I think Cersei should have been whacked sometime after she blew the sept. I mean no one can just take power without some support. She was literally hated by everyone except Qyburn and Zombie mountain. That does not make one a ruler.
Have her killed and replaced with someone the people TRULY love. If if you, God forbid, have to take some of the time away from Arya selling oysters. Then you set the grounds for the people outright rejecting Dany and her flipping out.

For me, the biggest problem with GOT by the end is that most of the best actors on the show had been killed off.
Tywin, Roose Bolton, Littlefinger all had a presence that was never really replaced. Not so much their characters but the actors playing the roles. Sure the writing may have sucked but there just wasn’t the star power on the show anymore by the end. Kit Harrington and Peter Dinklage weren’t enough.

Very valid point. Charles Dance was, by far, the best actor on the show. Diana Rigg was great as Olenna--at least she made it to season 7.
Although I like Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke, they both have a long way to go to become the actors mentioned above. They are just too young for that kind of gravitas.
Also, with all due respect to Missandei and Lady Melisandre, Ros was the most beautiful woman in the Seven Kingdoms.

The show ended with the white walker battle for me. It was never going to get better than that. Everything after was just mehhhhh DLC.
Would watch again.

Lena Hedy did an incredible performance as Cersei, but from the end of Season 6 it’s clear she’s living on borrowed time. Book readers were confused on why Faegon was added halfway through the series, but now I think it’s clear. Faegon and his faction are going to be the actual victims of Dany if the books by some miracle are ever finished. No way Cersei makes it through “The Winds of Winter”, and by removing Faegon and doubling down on Cersei, D&D wrote themselves into a corner which required mass stupidity to justify.

Agree Charles Dance was by far the best actor in the show. Such a commanding voice/presence. Of the actresses, I don’t think they used Natalie Dormer enough.
By the end, it felt like those remaining on the show didn’t have near the acting presence of the original cast they started with. It was an ensemble cast but if you remove the most powerful of the ensemble, then the show really looks weakened.

I started this.
I must say, after so long it’s kinda fresh again seeing the first season. The kids in particular look so young. S1 seems worthwhile. Not sure how long it will last but I’m ridin.
Dirty.
