'It's gotten worse': New Orleans East demands answers after shooting leaves 9 hurt

New Orleans East is not "da perfect spot" to be in after midnight. This should have been organized in the French Quarter where it is much safer.
"The man who organized the New Orleans East block party where eight people were shot early Sunday says he feels betrayed by the violence.
“I tried to give the community something positive,” organizer Leo Bryant told WDSU. “I feel like they let me down.”
The shooting happened in the 10100 block of South I-10 Service Road shortly after midnight. Two victims, including a woman shot in the face, were taken to the hospital by EMS. Police say the other victims are listed as stable or are being treated for graze wounds.
Bryant held the outside his storefront, Da Perfect Spot, and marketed it toward teenagers. But people who live and work nearby suggest the children should not have been out so late.
“It’s gotten worse,” said Austin Badon, a New Orleans court clerk who lives down the street from where the shooting happened. “It has not gotten any better.”
Police have not made any arrests in the shooting as of Sunday night. Dr. Kenneth Foy, who preaches at the nearby New Life Ministry Baptist Church, joined a chorus of neighborhood leaders calling on witnesses to tell authorities what they know.
“Some of this stuff ought to be addressed through reaching out to law enforcement rather than you trying to take justice into your own hands, which is not ever justice at all,” Foy said.
And while some neighbors paint parties like Bryant’s as too loud and too late at night – with partiers too young – he hopes to host another one when tensions settle.
“I just want these guys caught,” he said. “They’re a danger to the community. They’re a danger to the city. They’re a danger to the state of Louisiana.”
This marked the fifth mass shooting in New Orleans during 2021. Two people have been killed and 25 others injured in those mass shootings.
WDSU
Police in Louisiana have reported 15 mass shootings this year with nine deaths and 75 victims injured.
Update WDSU now says 9 were wounded in Nola East.
New Orleans Police say a teenage juvenile boy arrived at an area hospital on Sunday for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Their answer is elections have consequences and that’s what you get for voting Democrat.

Keep voting people like Latoya in office and black on black violence will never get the attention it deserves. But, she will keep posting about taking down vacant homes and all the woke work she is doing for the City. All while the quarter has gone to shite , vehicle break ins, burglary and crime/violence are out of control.
I live in New Orleans Lite (Lakeview) , but, hate the current state of affairs ion this City.

Would it have been?
Sometimes it not the location but the people involved...

A lot of these shootings are happening close to the interstate because it's the perfect spot for a drug deal.
Stop on the side of the road, with zero to minimal cameras. Shoot your victim before you take the drugs and money. Repeat

Sad state of affairs there. You know it is bad when I am considering driving through the ninth ward to get to Delacroix as opposed to taking the interstate through the East.
