Disney World opening up more availability.

Saw yesterday where Disney had opened up more reservations for its four parks. I am taking my wife for a few days in July and wanted to take our daughter but only Epcot had openings. Was able to get her reservations as well yesterday as all parks had openings. Siap. And yeah it's gonna be hot.

Thanks for the heads up. Going next week and hitting universal but we had one free day and I really wanted to go to Hollywood studios but it had no availability . Was able to get in now.

I think they are slowly increasing capacity without telling people they are.

We are going for 4 days in August and I was able to get the park reservations I wanted but that was quite a while back. The parks seem to get full at 60 days out because that’s when you can start making dining reservations; at least that’s my theory.
You need to just keep checking the availability calendar throughout the day and hope for the best. They’ve been adding capacity without announcing it so you never know when there will be an opening. People are constantly changing their plans so you might even get something while you are there. Adding the park hopper option gives you more options.
There’s a rumor that all mask requirements are going away this week.

They dropped a lot of openings for all parks yesterday. I have been checking daily for the last two weeks hoping something opened up. The spots are already starting to dwindle down.
And I sure hope you are correct about the mask requirement going away. ??

Y’all tell me about Hollywood studios. Just made my reservation today after reading this post. Never been before.

The best two rides in the park are in Hollywood Studios. Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.

Hollywood Studios has the hottest ride in WDW now: Rise of the Resistance. You have to “win” a ticket, called a boarding group, through the app on the day of your visit. Watch YouTube videos for how to get a Rise boarding pass.
It’s the one park where I haven’t seen a lunch reservation available yet. I want to get in the 50’s Diner but no luck yet.

Thanks! Yeah I can’t get a dinner reservation. Oh well
What do you mean by “win” a ticket ?

Just keep checking. People will cancel once they get closer to their trip dates and things will pop open. Sci-Fi dine in theatre is pretty neat if you can get a reservation.

Kind of like buying tickets for something when they first go on sale. You have to go into the app and get a boarding group as soon as it opens up in the morning or afternoon. They are gone in a few seconds. You want to try to get a morning one because you get in a group and you have to keep watching to see when your time is coming up to get in line. Even though you get a morning one you still may not get to ride until afternoon, but the higher number you get the more susceptible you are to not making it if there are breakdowns and such.

I see. Sounds eerily similar to when I was trying to buy a ps5
Yeah the sci fi drive in and 50s prime time diner are the only two I’m really trying. If I can’t get either of those we’ll just get counter stuff.
I really appreciate the info. Just hoping we get decent weather. Showing t-storms in forecast every day next week

Boarding Groups for Rise of the Resistance open at 7am and 1pm. You get them through the Disney World app. For the 7am slot you can be anywhere. For the 1pm slot you have to have entered Hollywood Studios earlier. We just went the last week in May. We had 6 people try right at 7am and no one was able to get through. We tried again at 1pm and was able to get a boarding group. The ride is pretty awesome.
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad opened up last year in place of the Great Movie ride and was fun.
It's also probably worth noting that there's not a lot of shade in Hollywood Studios so some of the queue lines may be brutal in the summer. Slinky Dog Dash and MMRR stand out from our trip so I would try to knock those out 1st thing or late evening when the crowds and sun go down.
For food without a reservation I would recommend the below.
Ronto Wrap in Star Wars land
Woody's Lunch Box in Toy Story Land
Baseline Tap House near MuppetVision
Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
Woodys Lunch Box and the Ronto Wrap are mobile order so you can order those from your phone and pickup when ready. I've heard good things about Dock Bay 7 in Star Wars Land too, but haven't tried it. I think they are also mobile order right now.

Yea we are hoping the same thing with the weather. We will be there next week also. You can YouTube videos or read information online on trying to get on rise of resistance. Two trips in a row and I’ve yet to get on so don’t let it upset you if you can’t.

Try to get a reservation at Oga’s Cantina if you can. It’s hard to get into but with the summer temps would definitely be worth it for some a/c and a beverage.

Any restaurant recs outside of the parks. ? Open to any type of food just nothing too high end/fancy

Chef Art Smith’s at Disney Springs is good...but like everything else hard to get a reservation unless you get it early in the 60 day window because you have to go through Disney to book. Unfortunately I’m not that familiar with anything in Orlando that isn’t tied to Disney in some way.

Very hard to get a reservation if you do it last minute. I tried on day 55 and was able to get Rainforest Cafe and Wolfgang Puck in Disney Springs. Nothing else of interest was available. I guess you should try day 60 and hope fir the best. Was hoping they would open more restaurants with the capacity increase.

Just a tip, when using the app for reservations don’t just use the breakfast/lunch/dinner options, hit the every 30 minute intervals. Not sure if it is a glitch in the system but different things pop up when you go block by block.

Some restaurant reservations in Disney Springs are available through the Open Table app. Chef Art Smith’s is not one of them but you can see others. They have reservations available that you can’t see in the Disney app.

I appreciate all the info guys. I couldn’t find any of those restaurants on open table. Maybe they only show up if something is available ??
Also, what’s up with the “walk up list” for the restaurants? Is there a chance of eating at one these places like the 50s prime time or sci fi if I get on the list ?
