I used to love the tinker with my PC based hardware, like upgrading RAM, video cards, etc.. I'm not really interested in that any longer and I just want something that works. Apple products just work. Add a new phone, affirm the new phone and its synched. Same with iPads, Apple Watch, or any other Apple product. No tinkering or troubleshooting necessary.
I've worked for multiple tech companies and I've been issued both PC and Apple laptops. I used to hate being issued Macbooks and would always switch if I had the option. Only because many of the functions and shortcuts were different in a Mac environment. Now that I'm well-versed I doubt I'll ever buy a PC based system again. I'm currently running a Macbook Pro with a 27" monitor in the home office.
Performance-wise it really doesn't affect me either way and I doubt there's all that much difference anyway given similar chipsets and hardware. All I use is the Mac-based Office suite, internet, and dabble in some HTML as a hobby. Also some Saas-based platforms
Good points. I'm not against Macs and may use them at some point once my current rigs go out. Still I'll need a good reason to pay the price premium.

In my limited experience, the Mac laptops seem to last longer and perform better over time than a similar PC laptop. Also, simply by nature of far less users there are less viruses that you have to deal with compared to windows based systems. Given those two assumptions the prices are probably comparable, but your calculus may be different.
