re: Band of Brothers vs Saving Private Ryan

BoB is mostly factual with real people behind what happens in it. The factual events sound even crazier than what was put to film. Not to mention the real people provided incredible insight on top of it. SPR with its inspired by status just will never meet what BoB did and the people behind it. SPR is a good movie, but BoB is just insanely great for so many reasons.

I hope the mighty eighth eventually happens, would love to see it.

Easy to hate on him but no one who has never been in combat knows how they would act. They did a study of soldiers after the war and found out a big number never discharged their weapon at the enemy. Little fact you can shoot at them, they can shoot at you. Upham is a complex character and more realistic then you want to think he is.
