How much has your property tax gone up in the last 90 days?
My house value has increased substantially and my property taxes have actually gone down $100 thanks to the new rate.

Hey are you close to the crazy couple with the statues in their yard?
Gonna need more details on where.

Why move a business to Nashville when you can move to Atlanta or Charlotte?
Because then you would have to live in Atlanta or Charlotte

Nashville is dead
Then let's go to Luckenbach Texas.

A major corporation coming to town creating thousands of well paying jobs and bringing a $2 billion investment is never a mistake. It’s what creates economies that truly last. Tax breaks for these types of businesses are pennies in order to bring dollars
Attracting big corporations is generally short term thinking. It also changes the fabric of the city quickly. A lot of times for the worst.
Investing in local small businesses and start-ups is a more sustainable long term strategy.

If you're really focued on eating and drinking, then I'd suggest New Orleans.
I can agree with this. Nothing really blew me away food-wise in Nashville, but was only there 2 nights and was my first time there.
I had just never realized how close everything was in downtown Nashville with Broadway, Predators arena, and Titans stadium all being within a short walk.
I'm surprised Nashville hasn't tried to have a Super Bowl with how the city is laid out. If New York City could have a Super Bowl, I'm sure Nashville could pull one off as well.

There's good food, but it isn't New Orleans. Very few places are. Also, a lot of the good food options, in my opinion, are certainly not in touristy areas - i.e., Nolensville Pike.

You come up with that all on your own?
I feel like I should not have to...

Even Jacksonville has hosted a Super Bowl. You’d think that Nashville is way more of a walking friendly city than JAX.

Atlanta is the way to go.
LOL @ anyone in/from LA calling Atlanta or any other city a shithole. That entire state is a shithole.
Atlanta is beautiful.

It's also true that unlike many of the cities Nashville tried to mimic, the state government is actively hostile towards them. Small town legislators fricking HATE Nashville and do them no favors with the budget. I support a state takeover, because while the Tennessee legislature often makes me question if they're all legally retarded, they have 100% proven to be some of the best in the country at building a fiscally stable budget that entices job growth.
lol, this is so true. Some of their Christian garbage annoys me, but when it comes to the economy they are usually on point. The exception was letting AT&T, Comcast, Charter, etc buy their votes to prevent expansion of high speed internet to rural areas that these companies will never serve with the same level of quality.

Pro business” or whatever. Doesn’t matter when your city doesn’t have an advantage over other cities. Why move a business to Nashville when you can move to Atlanta or Charlotte?
Yeah pretty much this. Atlanta and Charlotte are the kings of the hill in the South. Atlanta is the commerce/transportation/business hub and Charlotte is the financial/banking hub.
Eventually the entire 85 corrider will be one city. A southern megalopolis.

Nashville without their downtown is basically a more expensive Birmingham
I think Nashville is fun. Maybe once every 10 years, or for a football trip

So now that Portland, Austin and Nashville are dead, over hyped, and old news. What are the next hip cities?
I need to visit them before they end up like Nashville

Nashville hot chicken is trash. They can't cook good food there so they smother it with crappy hot "sauce" and I love spicy food but it is dumb.

Any place that is “Califonianized” is doomed to be a shite hole!
Posted on 5/14/21 at 11:51 am to RedRifle
Was just there this week for work, it'd been about 3 years since I'd visited. Seemed pretty clean and nice but definitely got a California east vibe now. Ventured out across the river on the east side of town to visit Southern Grist brewery. Lot of BLM signs, masks outside and gender fluids in that area.

Went to Nashville 4 years ago and thought it was fun...we stayed a few days then drove down to Franklin for a couple nights. Def a cool trip but...got to check out Vandy, some wineries and distillers, museums, etc.. ate some okay food, I would make the trip again but not to just hang out all weekend....I'd like to go back for a concert or a sporting event
