I don't know about trading either especially Hayes.
His potential is just too high. That twisting reverse layup yesterday was something 99 percent of Cs in the league can't do.
He's a force on the pick n roll and once we get a real PG, he'll be lethal.
He can shoot and that little pull up flip shot goes in more than not - it's not a fluke. He's got a soft touch up close similar to Zion.
Defensively, he's only going to get better. Six blocks yesterday. Unlike most Centers, he can move his feet quick enough to cover ground on the perimeter.
Just think about the leap from December to May. Now if he has a similar leap between May and next November, you're looking at not only a starter but a borderline All Star.
I could totally see Hayes averaging 15 ppg, 9-10 boards, and 2 blocks a game next year.

Hayes will average way more than 2 blocks a game if he gets starters minutes. If he averaged 33 minutes a night I bet he would be in the 3-3.5 blocks a game range.

That would make him the league leader. I love his game but I think that's expecting too much.

His block rate was actually better last year than it’s been this year.
His per 36 this year is 1.5 blocks/game. That said, you hope his defensive awareness and, more importantly, positioning lead to more blocks.

I still don't know Jaxon's position. He runs so well, I'd like him continue to develop his shooting and see more of him at the 4. You could see early that he not only ran well but also had great hands. The bonus is he has a shooting touch, but I really like him seeing him on the wing when they break.
He is good right now as five, particularly on defense. Whether the 4 or 5 depends on who he posts with. He'll get stronger and be able to help control the paint while being able to switch 1-5 comfortably ..... I'm putting Jaxon on Steph and Dame right now when they're going off with that high pick. Jaxon going to have something to say to them .....Lol

For me it's Zion and Jax as the core
Everyone else is tradeable

If Jaxson had enough minutes to qualify, he'd be 16th in the league in block %. I definitely thing that he's getting better, though.

Your down for Giannis II ? Meh ... I like team ball, movement and playmaking.

You say above avg G vs above avg C...but is it that? I dont think so. The optimism for both is based off of their potential. Both look good but Jax has maybe the highest ceiling in the league as a 5. His floor may be lower than NAWs but as a 20 yr old freak at C, I keep Jaxon. He has the potential to guard 1-5 at a respectable level and can shoot FT very well...that means he can finish games vs small ball and typical line ups alike. That is more difficult to replace than most finishing guards IMO.

You are getting carried away here.

I don’t think Hayes is far off. His potential is really high.
I would say the biggest potentials at the 5 are
Wiseman
Ayton
Hayes
Poku
In no specific order. Add Mobley from the upcoming draft also.

The 3 that Hayes just made is a sign of just how high his ceiling is. When you pair his athleticism with a high 3-pt percentage, you'll have an all-star.

Starters back in and there goes Memphis on a run

Right, but they still have to play against the Goberts, Embiids, and Jokics of the league. Those guys don’t just disappear overnight.
If you’re saying he has the potential to be among the five best centers of the last three classes, then I’d agree that he has that ceiling.
Robert Williams
Bam Adebayo
KAT
Christian Wood
Those guys are all solid and young, too.

I like what im seeing with his development. The three point shot shows us so much. The Fact that he has the confidence and is allowed to do it in the game huge. We sometimes forget how lucky we are with Zion. He is a unicorn that was ready as soon as he stepped on the court. Most players need to develop and grow Jaxson (and NAW at that) haven’t even had an Full offseason. He’s 20 you can’t expect him to go out and have this full blown professional offseason, by himself, In a pandemic. He’s too young. So him struggling early makes sense. But he has shown huge development since he was benched. I give big kudos to SVG. Because he stuck by his words, young players have to earn playing time. And Jaxson sat because he wasn’t earning his time. And he worked to get back in, and look at his improvement. I’m excited what a full offseason can do for him because the sky is the limit. And a front court of him and Zion is getting more and more intriguing.

It appears we dont all use the words potential and ceiling the same way. When i speak of it, I reference athletic ability combined with size and coordination. I am not referring to their skill.
Hayes has a better combination than most. Arguments can be made for a few players but Hayes is in the discussion. If you think Ayton has a higher ceiling, I have no issue with that. I maintain Hayes has All NBA potential.
Jokic is incredibly skilled. No one projects Hayes to become that player. That said, Hayes is just learning the game and already shows a somewhat natural shot. He doesnt have to be the most skilled C to have a tremendous upside. Zion is our offensive freak. We need Jax to become a defensive anchor...and simply keep the D honest on the other end. If he evolves into a DPOY type candidate, he will be an irreplaceable part to our DYNASTY.

His shot looks very fluid for his size.. Much more like a natural shooter than say, Embiid, who doesn't even leave the ground..
