If there is literally zero evidence to support a hypothetical, then the statement is moot and the guy doesn't, in fact, "get it."

Well, since we can all agree that lsu has historically had no real, in-state competition to recruiting, are you saying that....hypothetically....if a team should progress enough to challenge this monopoly, that that would not be an issue for lsu?

No, I'm saying that until there is even an iota of evidence to support this hypothetical, there's no reason to discuss it. I could, for instance, say that fish could rise up and subjugate mankind, but since there is no evidence of this ever occurring, it is a waste of time to talk about.

My ‘Prognostications’ , which to be fair are only that. Are based on the talent gap of skill position and depth between sunbelt teams and big 12 teams. I don’t have a reason to be biased against Louisiana. You can get as butthurt as you want about that, but a top 10 big 12 team will beat a good sunbelt team 80% of the time isn’t a biased statement. Perhaps you should evaluate your own bias.
That's a very fair assumption.
I think the problem arises when there's people in here just assuming that LSU would "easily" win based off the 3 letters on the helmet when we know that doesn't win you games. Last year proved that against Mississippi State and Missouri while the Cajuns beat an Iowa State team who played in the Big 12 Championship and won the Fiesta Bowl. And while I agree that Iowa State might've won later in the year or might beat the Cajuns more often than not, they could not do that when the ball was kicked off.

an iota of evidence
Well, I think that any unbiased person looking at what Napier has achieved in his first 3 years, and what seems pretty likely to be improved upon this year, would say that it would be a very reasonable projection to say that this is already happening. Unlike fish overtaking mankind, lol.
Also, I think you are underestimating the potential of the Acadiana region: with all the issues with Hud, one of the most important things he did is give a glimpse of the kind of excitement and support that is ready to be tapped again.
Just saying that to think that things will always be the same is very wrong-headed.

OU at 1 really is just them trying to stir the pot. All the big 12 does is get spanked in the playoffs. Then it will be SEC v SEC, big 10, or ACC

Can anyone please explain the infatuation with UGA? Every year they are rank in the top 5 and completely under perform

Then answer the first question I asked of you. Even a "reasonable projection" would show a semblance of current evidence that UL could compete for instate players with LSU. Something has to already be there in order to submit the hypothetical, not just, "Well, Napier's doing great things, etc."

Look, LSU is loaded with 4 & 5 star athletes, plays in the SEC, is regarded as THE flagship in a one-flagship state and has a $160 Million athletic budget. They're also just 14-15 months removed from possibly the best season in NCAA football history.
The Cajuns have upgraded to 2 star and some 3 star athletes, play in the Sunbelt, competes with other after-thought programs in the crabs in a bucket mentality of Louisiana, and has a $35 Million athletic budget.
The fact that such a preseason ranking (as off as it may be by January 2022) was even put out there speaks volumes about what Billy Napier and his staff have accomplished in only three seasons, especially after Mark Hudspeth left the cupboard bare and tied with sanctions.

How about the recognition that the program is getting....like the article that started this whole thread? How about all the job offers that Napier is getting? How about the vast improvement in recruiting that we have already seen? Those are all credible instances that UL has at least the potential to start encroaching on lsu.
Not to mention all the current negative rep for the various scandals enveloping lsu at this time......

Come on man.... you really think Ull would beat LSU???? As far as ranking, they may think they will finish with a good enough record to get there.... the question is would they be ranked that high if they were playing LSU’S schedule.

last year???? Zero doubt. This year? very good chance. Let me put it this way: I think betting with Napier is a MUCH safer bet than betting against him. And I'm pretty damn sure I'll still feel that way even after he moves on.

Since you still won't answer the initial question I asked of you, let me do it for you. There are currently 0 instate recruits that both schools are actively recruiting that would be considered competitive at this time for the 2022 class. LSU currently has verbal commitments from 4 of the top 10 LA recruits (247) and are a strong bet to get commits from 5 of the other 6 in the top 10 (Trevor Etienne probably going out of state).
The only school that LSU worries about snatching recruits that they want is Alabama.
Based on the current state of programs here in the state and historical indicators of state programs, there is nothing that would indicate this could change in the future.

With the LSU team that showed up to Auburn? Yes.

dude, really? I answered that question several posts ago....I totally agree that we are not competing at this time. But the point of the guy's original post was that we have the potential to do so, and I agree. And I think it is already happening to some degree, and will probably happen sooner than some believe.
But I get it: you want to keep believing that nothing will ever change, and the current status quo will never change. You go ahead and be you.

oh no. What I really believe that is that a pretty crappy, poorly coached lsu would have absolutely tarred and feathered little ole usl.
There now...that make you feel more better?

Why don't you go to the ULL board and join the other 12 members there?
