You can't really hear it at a game, but if you're by the bullpen, it's a sound I enjoy.

quote:Specifically, the Jarvis Landry go-ahead TD against Bama in 2012.
The deafening roar of the crowd at major college football programs
The ball goes up and it was like the vacuum of space, then the crowd explodes after the catch.

Another sound I like is the buzz of a fastball in a bullpen,

It’s amazing to how the crowd reacts to him compared to any other golfer.... it’s not even close.......

Joe West took a line drive to his gut a while back at a Mets game.
Pretty satisfying sound.

That actually started at a Hornets-Spurs game in the 08 regular season

Before the deadening of the bats, the ping in college baseball.

Crack of the bat is up there
BUT
I’ll at an audible pop of pass is awesome and more rare.
Top 5
1. Crack of the bat
2. Pop of the pads
3. An audible swoosh
4. An audible dunk
5. Golf ball going into the whole.
Crowd noise is crowd noise. I am Talking the sounds of the game.

Crack of the bat followed by the crowd cheering
Pop of the catcher's mitt
Spikes on concrete
Dugout banter
Pep bands at basketball games
Eruption of the crowd after a game-winning shot
Marching bands playing rap songs (the only reason I go to Mardi Gras parades)

Standing about 40' from a funny car or dragster in the pits when they fire it up and rev it up,it takes your breath away and you have to walk away a lil bit to get some air and be able to breathe, and you rush right back in there without thinking about it.
Deafening LSU on Saturday nights.
A young man's excitement after scoring a touchdown or hitting a homerun or winning shot.

Slapshot at a hockey game is like the crack of a bat. Hockey is great when you can hear the skating, shots, and hits.
Sound can be very interesting in tennis to follow the variety of shot.

I thinj That’s why there are some really good gold sounds. You can really hear the sport because the crowd is quite.
Also why there are some good basketball sounds because I’m pretty sure the hoops are mic’ed up.

quote:Nothing like being in an LSU crowd that takes over the home team's stadium.
having an away crowd boo the home team.
The most fun I ever had at a game was the 2000 Chic-fil-A Peach Bowl. LSU vs Geogia Tech in Atlanta. The Tigers were down 14-3 at halftime. To start the third quarter, they pull Josh Booty and start Rohan Davey. They scored the first time they got the ball again, kept scoring, shut GaTech down, and won 28-14. Hearing the LSU fans spell out T I G E R S after every TD in the GA Dome was awesome.
Run this YouTube highlight video to 6:16 and you'll hear it.
ETA: As far as sounds from the athletes, I'd put hearing the snap of everyone's chin straps right before leaving the locker room at the start of a game. That's when it starts getting real.
Hands popping thigh pads during calisthenics is up there too.

The sound of “neck” being played as we finish a game a tiger stadium at night..

Crack of the bat on a bomb was the first thought that came to mind.
I like the sound a mid to long iron makes when a pro hits it flush. Also golf, the growing crescendo of the crowd as a ball rolls towards and eventually in the hole.
Football, the sound of the pads cracking together on a big hit and accompanying crowd reaction. Not quite as flashy, but the thud of a well booted punt or field goal is pretty satisfying.
