I don't know about all that but there is something especially wrong with that area and that wal-mart parking lot. I'm not surprised they've just had a shooting there. It's not overly dirty in the parking lot and the store isn't messy but people are just very weird over there. I don't know if wal-mart just attracts people like that or what.

Such a shame. Used to fill my adderall there.

I'm guessing this wasn't part of a Covid vaccine shots for shots campaign?

Unfortunate for us all it wasn’t

I’ve lived over here for close to 6 years. Never had a problem at that wal mart other than long lines (what’s new).

It’s better now than it was about 3 years ago, was full of weird and aggressive beggars, actually had one try to get in my car. She seemed mentally ill. Wonder what happened?

Didn’t those apartments used to be called Plantation Trace?

Someone was shot to death at the Hub last year and a shooting occurred there in 2019, as well as an arson; and list goes on and on

With all those new cheaply built apartments down burbank and the already ghetto apartments there on highland that area is going to be one gigantic ghetto one day soon
Looks like it's starting
I think someone got shot at the apartments next door a few months ago

The other Neighborhood Wal-Mart off Coursey and Sherwood has the same weird vibe. I guess access to overly cheap goods turns people into Apes.
Target is only a slight upgrade. Rather than feeling like I'm gonna need to gun battle someone, I feel like I'm gonna need to fist fight someone.

Anybody remember Bailey’s chicken fingers at that intersection? I remember being a wee lad and loving that place. Think the location was where walgreens is now.

Yep early 90s, had a pet shop next door or something?

My older brother lived in those apartments while he went to LSU around 78-79. I remember swimming in the pool.
So sad to see that area- like Sharlo and Tigerland- turn to shite. Most we ever dealt with was break ins during summer on Sharlo back around 89-92.
I used to walk to and from Freds with no worries. Now it seems like trying to walk home from Fred’s to Sharlo would be a guaranteed way to get rolled.

They moved to Sherwood & Old Hammond, then to Seigen

I lived in that area (College Hills) but moved out in late 2014. I shopped at that Walmart all the time but toward the end I had noticed the "sketchiness" factor starting to increase just a little. I think the last year I was there I was approached in the parking on two different occasions by different "my momma is in the hospital in New Orleans and I just need gas money to get there" types. The six years prior, not a single issue.

Add the one on Old Hammond and Airline. The people staying at those seedy motels, months on end, close to the Cracker Barrel would frequent that store.

There was a huge encampment in that land behind there for years. But they’ve been run out.

It was where CVS is now. Great chicken fingers and superior to Cane's.....

Jesus Christ, is there any part of this tragic city that
Isn’t a haven for homeless?
