What top secret job could this be?

Girl who works for us quit because her husband took a new job. She can't talk about the job. Evidently the money is very good. He will be traveling 3/4 of the time, spending a good deal of time in unnamed foreign countries.
When he accepted the job, they told him "You're getting on a plane to Denver tonight."
What are the possibilities here? Government spy? Defense contractor? International assassin? We're all intrigued.
