Lift kit baws.

I'm sure this is gonna get some negative feedback. but I have always had leveled trucks and I was wanting to lift my 18 f150. I was getting the Superlift 4.5" and the shop told me that I could get 6" in Rough Country or Superlift for the same prices basically. I haven't been in a 6" lifted truck since probably 2009, so I can't remember much and trucks now seem larger anyway. So is a 6" gonna be pretty obnoxious? I'm only even considering the 6" just because of the pricing and I'm indecisive.

Depends on the girl you’re asking. And previous guys, I mean, trucks that they have experience with.

What size shoes you want to wear?

I got 34's right now but they're narrow. I'm gonna get some 285/65r20's or 35/12.5r20. I know I can run both with a level, I just wanted the body to sit up a little taller. I don't hate the factory 20's but wouldn't be opposed to new wheels, however, I can't get a straight answer anywhere about whether or not you can even drive temporarily on factory wheels with a 6" lift.

Might as well go at least 295/65/20 w those size lifts

4.5 with 35s
Or 6 with 37s
Don’t get a lifted truck and put undersized tires on it that’s what looks obnoxious. Its not really the size of the lift, it’s the tires that make it look good.
Be ready to visit the gas pump often and since gas is around 3 a gallon this something to think about
The lift may cost the same but the price in tires and your gas consumption will be higher with the 6.

yeh I was under the impression that 6" lifts would look a little disproportionate with 35's, although I have seen people running it before. I suppose the 4.5" might be the better option. Yeh gas is bad, which is a factor I guess the 4.5" would be slightly better, but idk forsure.
Edit: @Chad, that was a typo I meant to type 295/65r20 (in Ridge Grappler its like a 35.1x11.7 or something like that).

I had a 94 Chevy with a 6" lift and trucks these days are damn near as tall as it was from the showroom. If you gotta have it, get a 4 IMO. Tires, gas, and component wear will all suck more with a 6

awesome. thanks for the input baws.

Go for it. You’lll roll like all the other lofted baws. If they have to cut part of the front end I would not do it.

If you go 4.5" you will wish you would have went 6". I got a 6" w/ 35s on a 21 Ram and I love it.

IIRC, a 6" will require pulling front Diff and grinding it down to fit. I am always against fooling with integral mounts and powertrains. 4" also doesn't require a crazy big shoe, you can run 35s and look good. 6" needs some serious rubber and alloy to make it not look skinny.
And please keep it level.

And go Rough Country. You can always get someone on the phone at the factory, and they love to help solve problems. Was on the phone with one this week. He said hold on one second while he had a guy pull the part off i needed. Shipped it free of charge. Great people.

I had a 6" rough country on my 2018 f150 that I sold. I had 35" tires and 20" fuel wheels. I loved the look of it. I ended up selling it. I now have a 2017 f250 with a 4" lift and 37" tires with 22" wheels. The f250 with the 4" lift sits at about the same height as my f150 with 6" lift. It's not too obnoxious. Obnoxious ones are the 8"+ lifts with the large offset wheels.

I’ve got a level kit on my ram with zone UCAs and I plan to go up to a 6” later this year but after I add it to my current eibach kit it’ll actually be about 8”. I’m going with the zone 6” kit with rear long travel option and upgraded fox shocks
I’ll be running 35’s because my gear ratio isn’t low enough to run 37’s
You’re gonna lose MPG but if it isn’t a daily driver then it won’t be so bad

I had a 6” lift on my 2014 F150. It’s tall but nothing crazy. I had 35s and they looked fine. Gas mileage was shite. Traded it in last month
Probably won’t ever lift a truck again, though.

Same thought I had. Its cool as hell for a week. In a few years you're driving a big creeky ball joint eating gas guzzling no fitting in parking garages POS. Ill never own another one unless it's a toy

Just make sure you leave the back at stock height

Curious why this is obnoxious or receiving downvotes.
