But we have decided as a society that this known risk is acceptable because we've weighed the benefits versus the cost. But the cost is quite literally tens of thousands of lives every year. Many, I'm sure, are innocent people doing nothing wrong...many of them children as well.
The sad reality is that in a free society, we have decided to take risks. In the case of a non-Constitutionally protected thing like driving, we are fine with knowing taking part in it will kill <30,000 Americans annually. In the case of a Constitutionally protected right to own a firearm, we are apoplectic about roughly the same number of raw deaths each year despite 60% of them being self inflicted and refuse to even address the vast majority of killings which have virtually nothing to do with legal gun ownership.
At some point, we need to stop arguing with these idiots as if we can win a logical argument and simply make sure people see this for what it is. It's not an attempt to curb gun deaths, because as we see "deaths" are not necessarily a motivating factor when it comes to auto accidents, but a blatant attempt to disarm law abiding American citizens.

We have too many people in this country. And the people that shouldn't be able to reproduce seem to be reproducing in great quantities.

Too late. The leftists in academia/Hollywood/government have succeeded in convincing a generation that mental disorders like gender dysphoria are actually hard-coded biology, resulting in muh "born this way" horseshite.

Exactly.
Incarcerate anyone who commits a violent crime for a LONG time (20 years). Make the punishments extreme. If you lockup some a-hole who assaulted or mugged someone for 20 years you have removed that person from society, and they cannot commit another (worse) crime.
When punishments are a slap on the wrist (or a couple on weeks\months in jail) it really isnt a deterrent.
And Joe can stick his EO up his arse. I will not comply.

Nah, we really need to expand the death penalty in this country and speed the process up significantly... Incarceration is no more a deterrent to these folks as gun laws... Remove them from life totally... Also, it should be public and shown in schools first thing every morning...
