I've pulled a 21ft boat with a Chevy Trailblazer. I currently pull one with a Chevy Colorado no with no problem.
In the 60s my dad pulled a 18ft boat all over East Texas with a 59 Ford pickup with a straight 6 and 3 speed shirt on the column, maybe boats and campers weighed a lot less back then.

I don't know how, you pull out a boat from a launch, but I live in chackbay and fish almost out of every boat launch from Grand Isle to lafayette YOU DON'T NEED A DAM 4X4 TO DO THIS!.

I have seen people burning the tires trying to come up the ramp several times. Mostly good ramps too. I think pulling your boat up farther in the trailer would help a lot of people.

Need it? No. But it’s good insurance.

If you have a buddy with you, and have any trouble on a ramp.. trailer the boat, have your buddy sit in the drivers seat of the boat.. as you start to pull out, he can use the boats engine to get everything rolling. and just shut boat engine down, once you are rolling. we used to get big offshore boats out with half ton trucks doing this
