OP’s logic does not. A fat guy dying of a heart attack at 50 cost way way way less than a thin guy taking five years to be eaten alive by cancer or an old guy in-and-out of the hospital with old guy problems for several years.

What studies that have been made public show that fat people tend to be less costly in the long run. Bet your arse that the insurance companies already have ALL the data on this and if they could justify charging significantly more for being fat then they would ... they haven’t. This tells me they know paying a hundred a month for some fatty's blood pressure meds is a cheaper alternative.
