Best places to shoot in south LA or close in MS.
Funny Texas seems to have 3 by every city. We maybe have 2 still operating that I know of.

You’ve got way more than 2.
Covey Rise, Ed’s sporting in Kaplan, Wilderness Gun Club in the Lafayette, GOL in Maurice, Port Allen Gun club, 3-D Shooting center OBerlin, La, Wild Wings in Downsville, Natchitoches Shooting Range, Bayou country in Houma and I’m sure their are a few more I’m forgetting.

None are as nice as Cajun Elite was but Covey Rise is the biggest left in south La. 3-D is nice as well as Wilderness. GOL is strictly benefit shoots these days.

I went to Bridgeview in Port Allen multiple times when I lived in BR. Seemed a little sketchy being amongst chemical plants, but they were good at changing it up every so often

Covey Rise and Providence Hill in Flora.

Honey island swamp or bayou sporting clays. Ones north or Slidell the others in Houma.

So is this a flex that you have ammo to burn?

"Port Allen Gun club"
Was told by several that Hunters Run is closed in Port Allen, finally reopened?

It had reopened as Bridge view. I can’t say for sure it hasn’t closed down again I haven’t went there in a few years. I Didn’t care for there NSCA shoots.

It has been reopened for a few years as Bridgeview and it is still open.

Hunter’s Run lost the property a couple of years ago and the property was switched over to a new owner. If it closed it was for a short time a number of years ago during this transition. I was out there today, plenty of people shooting

Is this correct? The Flora up near Natchitoches?

No it’s north of Jackson MS. It’s VERY nice.

Providence is just north of Clinton, MS.
It’s private though. So you can only shoot there is you’re (a) with a member, (b) shooting a tournament, or (c) shooting in one of their benefit shoots.
But if you’re near Jackson, there’s a new facility called magnolia sporting clays. I just joined it. Great place to shoot sporting or 5 stand.

I thought it was a private course.
My son and I make a road trip just before he started school this year. We hit Pursell farms and Selwood farms (about 30 minutes apart, south of Birmingham Al) then we drove over north of Atlanta to Garland mountain than headed south and hit Ravenwood in south Alabama, north of Pensacola. They were all great courses to shoot and we had a blast.

Providence is one of the nicest places to shoot in the country. I have a couple friends that are members plus I shoot in their monthly registered shoots.
The only place I’ve ever shot at nicer than providence is a place called The Fork Farms near Charlotte NC.

I usually shoot at High Point in Belle Chasse. Good group of guys. I travel a lot and try to hit different spots.
Places I like:
Pursell in BHM
Sellwood in BHM
Santa Rosa in Pensacola
Old Vermillion in Duluth MN
Clinton House in Clinton SC
I want to try Taylor Creek in Mobile as well, the guy put a lot of effort into it lately.
No way, clay shot is far easier to find than bird shot. I don't have the luxury of sitting at Academy for four hours mid-week and I can find ammo.

What are the fees at this place? I’d been going down to Houma to shoot but would love to hit somewhere closer like Belle Chase.
ETA: and where are you finding clay shot?
