Natural Blood Pressure Remedies

Anyone have any ideas how to lower blood pressure naturally? Every time I go to the doctor, they make me keep a log for a week, but end up telling me I’m not over the edge enough to get put on medicine. I take a multivitamin, fish oil, and magnesium.

Not being a smart arse. Actually asking.

A low carb diet helps too.

I'm probably about 10-15 #'s of what I consider overweight. 5' 11 and weigh 200.
I try to workout 3 days a week and eat a good diet at least during the week. Saturday and Sunday tend to just do whatever.
It's hard to get consistently good workouts in because I work an hour away. I'm usually gone about 14 hours a day and when I get home I have to deal with kids. Then off to bed to wake up at 4am

Try adding oatmeal with cinnamon to your diet.

You're overweight bordering on obese according to the BMI chart. However, I am the same according to the BMI chart and my BP is consistently 118-120/76-78. I think the height to waist ratio is much more indicative of health than the BMI chart, which more or less tells you how much stress you're putting on your heart/joints by carrying what is clinically considered excess weight.

This is going to be won in the kitchen. Some people are genetically predisposed for high BP, so there may not be much you can do if you've hit that age and you're genetics are what they are, but there is a lot you can do if that isn't the case. Stop doing whatever on Saturday and Sunday. Start treating it like a weekday. Lay off alcohol (I have no idea if you drink), if you smoke, stop smoking. Eat lean meats, eat red meat for the iron, limit carbs, and eat 5-7 servings of fruits/vegetables a day. All this is, of course, staying within your TDEE.
What are you doing those 14 hours? Is it a labor intensive position? As much as people hate to hear it, particularly those who work in Louisiana and rely on labor jobs, having an elevated HR for 14 hours a day is NOT healthy for you. Even if you aren't doing a labor intensive job, I don't know many jobs where you are working 14 hours a day that are considered healthy, whether you're a tool pusher or a cardiologist.
Tell more about your lifestyle. I'm making some serious assumptions here, and it'd probably be easier for everyone here to give you advice if you gave more info. Eating a good diet means something different for a lot of people.

I am posting on TD during the work day...most definitely not a labor intensive position When I say 14 hours that means I am gone from home for 14 hours. I am usually inside the plant being a baw for about 11 hours. I sit at a desk.
Definitely drink, but it is again only on the weekends. My father and younger brother have high BP so I may just be screwed. But I'd like to avoid taking a pill if I can.

The weekend is nearly 30% of the week, and that's not counting if you drink and eat whatever you want on Friday nights. If you are gorging yourself with fried foods and 1,000 calories worth of beer 2 days a week you aren't going to make progress. Period. Point blank.
Having whatever you want is fine, I do it, but maybe only once a month, sometimes less. I'm more in the 2% error range which can me overcome.

Do they eat healthy diets and exercise? Some people are going to have high blood pressure no matter what, but AT LEAST 90% of people on statins are on them because of their lifestyle choices.

I think this is critical.
My dad has cancer, high BP, and has had a stroke. My mom had a stroke and has high BP. They have also smoked/drank for 70% of their lives. It's silly to succumb to a life of unhealthy behaviors because I think I'm predisposed for those things when I have a completely opposite lifestyle.
I know it is normalized, and it's still a vice of mine, but alcohol is a poison and the extremely small benefit you get from drinking CERTAIN alcohols once a week can easily be obtained by eating a serving of blueberries. If you want to drink that poison (lord knows I do more than I should), that is your decision. But chalking up health issues as genetic before trying to get them really under control is a personal thing and something on which none of us can give you advice.

I had high BP for a while, so high that one time my doctor wanted to admit me to the hospital immediately. I was taking OTC allergy meds and when I stopped taking those, BP went back to normal. So think about anything you may be taking no matter how insignificant.

What you sip can also help with blood pressure. Hibiscus tea, made from red Hibiscus sabdariffa flowers, can lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure about as much as common medications

What’s your average?

Seriously, it has lowered my BP even maintaining the same weight within a 5lb range.

Carditone may help.
(EDIT for the Downvoter) - Carditone brought my resting heart rate down significantly and noticeably lowered my diastolic, so before downvoting you should read up on it (if you can read)
make a half gallon of this every day

Honestly? What's your water and potassium intake?
Mine has gone down considerably since upping my potassium intake. I've always drank 100+ oz of water a day.

Any possibility of sleep apnea? You’d be surprised how common and how much it can improve your blood pressure when treated
