Sony will sell more consoles as they do far better outside of the United States.

Lol, I ve bought every Sony system at launch and loved everyone of them. My point is this isnt a console war anymore. Like I said in my previous post this isnt Genesis vs SNES. Will PS5 outsell the Series X and S...probably. Will everyone that simply has high speed internet be able to play Last of Us 3 or Horizon 2? Probably not. That is what MS is going for in the future. It doesnt mean Sony and Nintendo dont have a space and wont succeed in that space. MS looks to be going in different direction though and the console space is just one of them.

Ps5 is crushing the Xbox series X in sales
Fair enough, but that doesn’t necessarily make it better

Honestly, what are you xbox fanboys even playing? At this point, you don't even have a say so in the debate.
I honestly don’t understand the whole my console vs your console thing.... really don’t get it. It’s almost like you guys are the ones who develop this shite. No clue why y’all are so obsessed with PROVING that your console is the best.. if someone asks which one would be better for them, by all means, list the hardware and the performance of the machine... but this whole ‘my console VS the world’ mentality is strange to say the least

Personally don’t care. It’s just fun to do on message boards.

You guys were so sure about outselling the PS5 before launch
I seriously do not know a single person that thought this, I think you are making this up.
PS is awesome at what it does, but it only can do one thing. If that is all you want, well there you go.

I already have a Series X but I might need to pick up a PS5 since my son has his main Destiny 2 profile attached to my Xbox account.

Xbox spent a lot of money and is still getting doggystyled by PS. You hate to see it.

This is what I love here
Then their is the real world
Microsoft #3 - $1.8 trillion
Sony #86 - $138 billion
Microsoft has the ability to experiment and try different ideas to advance gaming. Sony has a fast hard drive.
You really do hate to see it.

PlayStation is going to be the superior product going forward as it has been since the PS4 launch.
The only reason I had a PS4 Pro was for the exclusives.
If it wasn't an exclusive, I played it on the X One X
Pro was a fine system, and VR was great. . . but the X1X was next level.
And my PC shits on all of them

All that money and their console game still sucks lol
Sad.

I prefer Microsoft's exclusives, but for this gen, I'm going PS for the first time. Mainly b/c I converted my gaming PC into a SFF home theater/console, so I'll just play anything that isn't a Sony exclusive on that with my Xbox controller. I think with the rise in SFF home enthusiast PC builds more and more people are doing this. At least it's evident in my small circle. So it'll look like Sony is winning the console war, but ultimately I'm gaming on my PC more now.

This idea that one of the HAS TO WIN is just stupid.
I agree with this. There will be no clear winner. people will play whichever their crew is on

I have the PS5 and have yet to see the greatness of the console so far. The graphics are better, but not amazingly better. Does it seem smoother? Yes a little. I was prepared to be amazed like a 2021 car over a 2000 model car. Just don’t see the hoopla over it.
That’s why I am selling them as I get them. I’m not a big gamer and don’t even like the new cod. I’ll be happy with the ps4 for a while until a better first person shooter comes along.

As otheres have stated, it's really a personal preference at this point to determine which console is a better fit for you (Sony exclusives vs. Microsoft Exclusives, Game Pass vs. PS Now, do your friends play on a particular console, etc.).
I'm one of the people who owns both and one thing that bothers me is that the PS5 continues to outperform the Series X for certain games. The Series X has more powerful hardware, yet that difference is not actually showing up when comparing game performance side-by-side. The answer as to why this is occurring is...complicated (e.g. LINK), but it's also frustrating.
For example, I originally purchased Control: Ultimate Edition to play on the Series X because I thought it'd outperform the PS5 due to the Series X's more powerful hardware, but in a recent comparison, the game has more drops/freezes on the Series X. This is just one example, but I'm hoping the game devs figure out a better way to take advantage of the Series X hardware to use the (modestly) more powerful specs of the Series X.

Well that’s not true at all
shite the Xbox One all in one media hub concept flopped pretty hard
The whole routing your cable tv through it was shite, a lot of people including myself just stopped using it. All while Sony’s Vue concept was way ahead of MS
Especially now that streaming services exploded and both systems will have the app for it
Man I sure miss PSvue, running it on PS4 was flawless and I’m sure on PS5 it would have been amt

I meant the discrepancy is even larger outside of the United States, Xbox sales in Japan are putrid.

From what I understand MS took a lot longer to get development kits to developers than Sony and that is why the games aren't as well optimized in some games.
Posted on 2/3/21 at 7:25 pm to ThuperThumpin
Yup, I think that's the gist. I guess I'm just frustrated that devs haven't released subsequent patches to better optimize the games on Series X. But regardless, I think both consoles have great value and I've been happy with both so far.
