No. Gotta give it at least one more year. Draft that big LT to put in front of him and see what happens.
Saying that, I said it while he was at Bama that I didn't think he'd cut it in the NFL, due to size and the fact he can't see the whole field. We'll see what happens.

Give your worst Tua opinions.
If you can’t see that the Dolphins’ offense is much better when Fitzpatrick is at QB over Tua, then I don’t know what to tell you.

I think they should. And it isn't necessarily because I think it is time to give up on Tua.
This is a QB's league. Dolphins are in a prime window to contend for a title here with young talent and a plethora of draft picks. All of that is for naught if you don't have the QB. Tua hasn't shown anything in the NFL that should lead Miami to believe he can be a good to elite NFL QB. I will reiterate that it is early and he still very well could improve and be that. But we also live in an era where you can kind of judge QB's after a year or so now - we saw Herbert, Burrow, and Hurts all show enough as rookies to have their teams feeling confident in them moving forward. We didn't see that with Tua.
So I think you take a QB if a guy you like is there, but you don't need to reach for one. If the Dolphins like Fields (for example) and he falls in their lap, take him. Have a QB competition, and you make your decision on who you want to roll with going forward. You can likely trade Fields or Tua for a very high 2022 pick - you don't lose all that much. Drafting QB's is a crap shoot but at the same time, a necessity to becoming a contender - so giving yourself another chance at one is a really good idea imo and the downside isn't even that big - basically punt a year on a draft pick by trading a QB for a 2022 draft pick which could still be a first rounder. Rosen fetched a 2nd, and Tua and Fields are better prospects than he was. I think you could get a 1st for either.

Burrow hadn’t even started a game yet at the age Tua is at the moment. Maybe pump the brakes a bit before throwing him out.

Fields is going to bust hard. No thanks.

Fields is going to bust hard?
What about his game makes you think that? I think his floor is a middle of the pack talent. A better talent that Goff say given his legs.

Drafting /moving up to take Fields or Wilson with a top 3 overall pick after drafting a QB in the top 5 the previous year would be borderline retarded and the sign of a very dysfunctional organization.
Unless you are gifted 2 first rounders for a decent not great left tackle.

Buyer beware on QB’s from Bama. Not hating.
5* Lineman blocking while 5* Receivers get separation make QB’s look like they are at a 7 on 7 camp.

Yeesh, man. No need to take things so personally. It's a fair question to ask, considering how poorly Tua played down the stretch. I think he will be probably be fine, but I don't feel as confident about him as I did 6 months ago. Hopefully he improves in year two.

I just think it’s silly how early people here are giving up on him.
And I think it has to do with Alabama more than Tua.

His deep balls have a ton of air on them. Those will be interceptions in the NFL. Not saying he’ll be a bust, just giving an example of a weakness

Let’s revisit this thread in 3-4 years since players do improve or decline from year to year. Ask Derrick Henry or LF. You guys are taking 1/2 a season a rookie has played and then projecting his career off of that.

Still wakes up in the middle of the night seething at what Joe Burrow and Clyde Edwards Helaire did to them in Tuscaloosa in 2019.

I agree that it's too early to give up on Tua. But I don't think the criticisms of him have to do with him being from Alabama, aside from some LSU fans on this board who may be rooting for him to fail.
I think it has more to do with the fact that we've seen 4 rookie QB's play significant snaps this year with Burrow/Herbert/Hurts showing franchise QB potential. All the while, Tua hasn't even really shown any flashes of high upside potential.
Bama bias aside, that is concerning. Add in the valid point that he was throwing to Devonta Smith/Jerry Jeudy/Henry Ruggs/Jaylen Waddle while an NFL O-line blocked for him and it's easy to speculate that his deficiencies could have been easily masked in college in a way that cannot be done in the NFL (Not saying that is the case, just that it isn't a crazy notion).

See, Hurts is WAY worse than Tua. But has never been used to troll.
LSU fans are hurt that their program is less than ideal right now. So they’re jumping on Tua.

Tua by no means has been good at all, but he has zero help around him. OL, RBs, WRs, they all suck. Give him some talent around him I think he'll be fine.
