The Dawn Wall always gets me. Seeing how excited and proud Tommy Caldwell's dad is of him always gets to me. My dad is older, and while I'm not a frick up, I was not really living up to my potential during college and the first couple of years after, so that kind of stuff always hits me hard.

fricking Pixar movies man.
Speaking of Pixar, the opening montage of Up showing Carl and Ellie's life together and ultimately her death gets me. every. time.

Shawshank. Brook’s death. And when the camera pans Morgan Freeman after he’s released saying, “I’m just so tired of being afraid”.

Beautiful Boy
Unfortunately, I have a very intimate connection with the topic of this movie.
The way it portrays the journey of both the addict and their family is done in an incredible way.

Rocky - Win or lose, the grit he showed to finish the fight and the respect he got from everyone, including Apollo.
Rocky 2 - When Apollo drops him for the last time and Mickey is telling him to stay down. When Rocky gets back up and you can see Apollo disappointed, for 2 reasons I think. One, I don't think he wanted to keep beating on Rocky. But even more, he knows he's given Rocky everything and still can't keep him down. Then there's the thrill of Rocky finally doing it and winning.

Since I had my daughter a few years ago, I cannot watch the end of Armageddon without a snot cry. Last 2 times I just left the room to "run to the bathroom" really quickly right after he gives Affleck the patch
The Natural hits me hard, in a good way. That was one of those movies that I always watched with my Dad.

Becoming a dad turns you into a gigantic pussy. I can't get thru Pixar movies anymore without getting a little (a lot) dusty.

Yeah - when we rewatch that the kids always start giggling knowing I’m tearing up
That and when Dobby dies in Harry Potter - the whole ‘beautiful place with friends’ thing gets me and I’ve seen it millions of times and read the books more than thrice

Black Hawk Down. Never watched it. Can’t bring myself to do it knowing what they went through. I get pissed off just thinking about it. I think others would classify that as irrational
Movie I’ve actually watched: The Last Jedi. Nothing like being insulted for being a Star Wars fan and paying for it.

Most entries in this thread are sad movies, or super sweet/sad parts of movies, etc. I thought this was supposed to be movies that made you "irrationally" emotional? These are all supposed to make you feel things.
In that light, the end of Major League when Bob Uecker is going crazy, then it starts with the theme music by Bill Medley while everyone is pouring out of the stands onto the field. I love the piano in that Bill Medley song that plays throughout the movie in heavier scenes

Watched “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” and spent the next three hours ugly crying, like red-eyed, convulsing, snot-nose plugged up, crying.
