The problem is I'm 99% sure the specs provided are targeting 30 FPS. My monitor can output up to 165 FPS but I don't use the boost mode, so I want to get as close to 144 as possible.

Damn I got that $49.99 deal on the PC version from Amazon. I’m probably going to cave just to play it a couple hours early.

That should be perfectly fine lol. Recommended is a i7-4790 and a RTX 2060 for 1440p Ultra
they dont tell you what FPS that's at though

Wonder what I'll have to run at 1440p with my 1080 Ti.
I had planned on upgrading to a 3080 by now, but lolz at finding a card anytime soon that's not jacked up to double the price.
I may just hold off playing until I can snag a 3080. I still have Valhalla and Shadowlands to keep me preoccupied.

Like I said I'm fairly certain it's 30 FPS. I'm not playing shite at 30 FPS.. I don't even want 60 FPS anymore but at least the difference from 60 to 120-144 isn't as bad as the drop from 60 to 30. Unplayable.

I don't really need a guide, or really want one, but for some reason I'm really compelled to buy this...

Holy shite were a week away.
Since I’m having such a hard time getting a PS5 I’m probably just gonna get it on PS4 in the meantime. No way I’ll be able to wait.
But I need to figure out how or even if a save game would transfer once I do get my hands on a PS5.

I would get hyped, if they had the PS5 version out yet.
Don`t want to buy PS4 version and then update.
That’s not how it’s gonna work. The game released is the game released. It will obviously run better on PS5. However, they’re not releasing an actual “next gen upgrade” for it until 2021.

That's pretty much my specs as well, except for the 2k monitor.

Only thing I could see being underwhelming is the combat mechanics since this is CDPR’s first go at an FPS. That said, one of the previews showed V wielding a laser katana hacking someone’s brain to get them to blow their own brains out, thereby making that entire sequence a candidate for the coolest god damn thing I’ve ever seen
The environments and world building look like they’re going to be absolutely incredible though which is top of my criteria for games like this.

You should be fine with the 1080ti, could see this game being heavy on the CPU though

Did they ever announce when the game will be "updated" to the ps5/new xbox will be?

Watched a review on IGN from one of their guys that had played 16 hours of the game, and he stated if you are looking at the game to be a FPS, you might be disappointed, and although it has some FPS aspects and it can be played in that style, The game as CDPR has stated is definitely an open world RPG, which we know they have mastered. Said you could go hours and never even pull your weapon if you wanted to.
Not trying to flame, just passing along some info based on the FPS vs RPG aspect.

This is what I want. Give me RDR2 meets Bladerunner and let me get lost for hours in the game.

I’ll be honest I haven’t looked at much because I want to be totally surprised when I play. Can you go in most buildings?
Posted on 12/3/20 at 10:08 am to SCgamecock2988
Negative. Kind of like a rockstar set up where you can only go in select buildings and then select floors within those buildings.

Yeah I watched that too which I’m totally fine with. The good thing about combat is you can approach it a bunch of different ways from the looks of it, so even if it’s not the best mechanics ever it should at least be entertaining and not repetitive. Plus like you said the RPG aspects and environment look S tier.
