Louisiana is an employment at will state. An employer has the right to terminate an employee at will unless there is a contract or the reason for termination is illegal. The argument being the employee can quit employment at will why can’t the employee terminate him at will.

College athletes, although not employees, are in a similar position with their universities. They may be released at any time. They owe the universities, coaches nor fans the right to profit from their talents. Especially the LSU fans who turn on the athletes at the drop of a dime as if the athletes owe them personally something.

The same LSU fans who are against them marching for equal justice under the law. Fans who automatically call them liars and take sides against them when they say they have been treated unfairly be police. Fans who.Demonize them when they speak out about Black Lives. Or cheer for their failure once they have used up their usefullness at LSU.Those type fans should STFU and let these athletes make decisions they feel are in the best interest of themselves and their families.

I guarantee not a one would pledge to financially support an athlete who stays and is permanently injured or loses millions in values because they stayed. Sort of like Stevens who chose to return. What was the response of those fans to Stevens? They cheered his return. Now to them he’s just another bum. He has lost millions by returning. Will those fans make up those millions? Hell no! He’ll be thrown on their trash heap like the many others whose usefulness to them ended.
