The same as athlete salaries, ceo salaries, etc. Yes, what the market bears, and that is fine, but $6-18M just to talk a few times a year on tv. Good gig if you can get it.

Reality for Nantz is that he sits next to a guy every Sunday who just got into the business and already makes nearly triple his salary.

I agree. Nantz is vastly underpaid. As others have said, he's the best in the business and should be paid accordingly. Plus it's tough living on Pebble Beach on $6.5 mil per year.

And again your post is attacking Nantz or someone hypothetically in Nantz s position, you aren’t questioning the market at all

Just because he calls sports ball he can make that much?!!
What about the real essential workers ?!?

It is kinda crazy that ABC/ESPN has so much trouble finding a lead duo, but at the same time it's their constant search that drives up the price for CBS, NBC, and Fox.

Have you looked at the events Nantz is the lead announcer on? Way more than anyone else.

I wonder what Brees and Manning will get. What happened to Cutler’s deal?

Al Michael’s is my favorite broadcaster of all time. If he wants to take forever to retire I say let him.

Cutler went back to playing after signing with them. Guess he just didn’t like broadcasting that much bc he never went back

Joe Buck makes $10.5 million at Fox, according to sources, and NBC’s Mike Tirico is near that number, as well.

This is the most surprising thing about the whole thing to me. Mike Tirico gets $10 mil a year? NBC's one night of football with all their stockpiled broadcast talent is the stupidest thing ever.

They poached him from MNF when him and Gruden were hot names in the industry. He was supposed to take over for Al in short order but Al held on longer than they thought he would

Gruden was probably the first guy to set that market the way it’s going because MNF was competing against college and NFL HC salaries to keep him.

Why would Jim Nantz not already be the highest paid broadcaster. He’s been one of, if not the best for years
