Sideways is just funny from start to finish. The humor is not juvenile and never goes over the top like hte stupid humor in Hangover. I've seen Sideways three times now and will watch again probably before year is out. So well written, acted, the smart man's road movie; not that I'm smart but the movie certainly is.

I find it very rewatchable. The pacing isn't fast but it is consistent.
One of Giamatti's best roles in my opinion.

It’s a favorite movie of mine.

Paul Giamatti is one of the most watchable actors out there and the movie is such an easy watch. Every time it's on I can't help but stop on it, even if I watched it yesterday

It’s the greatest middle aged crisis movie ever. All 4 of the main leads killed it. Also the setting in wine country really gives the movie a certain flair to it.

Meh. Thomas Haden Church was best part of that movie. Been years since I watched it but I remember thinking it was overrated.

Because of this movie and that line, the sales of Pinot went up and the sales of Merlot went down.

It was just okay. Nothing nearly as great as the hype.

It's okay. I'd call it a little too pretentious, but I know that was exactly the point given the characters.

Wife and I went to Napa for an anniversary a few years ago. Watched this on the flight in. Good times.

The nuances that make these characters...
(Convenience store checkout counter)
(Miles (Giamatti) points over the cashier's shoulder.)
Miles: "And could I get a Barely Leqal?"
(Cashier reaches for the magazine)
Miles: "NO, um, the new one."

Hated it. Barely made it through the whole thing.

I dislike Hangover, but not for the pretentious reason you give. "Juvenile humor" can be hilarious and fun. Hangover just failed to be funny for the most part, although it did have some good moments.

One of the greatest and MOST UNDERRATED television/film character of all times --
Every time he came on screen, I smiled. Every time he spoke, I laughed out loud.

the look on his face as he drives into the tree after the encounter with the waitresses husband was pretty priceless.

I howled with laughter seeing Hangover in the theater. But I never felt the need to see it again and I haven't seen the sequels.
Sideways I have on DVD and watch whenever it's on TV.
