Thanks for the kind words. Football coaches are a quirky bunch.
Last night my son, before the game, sends a video another player took of him kicking a 50 yard FG...so I’m all pumped about the game.
Game starts, coach calls an onside kick...son kicks it and we recover. Short drive, my boy throws a 35 yd touchdown pass. No XP, goes for two, make it. I’m expecting him to blast a kickoff, their returner is standing on the 30. Coach calls another onside kick. Other team ties the game up within a minute or so.
Put a drive together, boy throws some good passes, get down to the 30..I’m thinking nice FG try...nope, go for it 4th and 8...we didn’t score again after the first, lost 30-8. You have the best kicker on the district and you NEVER let him kick. Even if it’s just to build his confidence at QB, throw the kid a bone.
