I live in Simpsonville which is a suburb of Greenville. We have lived in a number of cities ranging from Seattle to Charlottesville and Greenville is by far the best place we have ever lived. Good food, great small city vibe. There is a reason why businesses are flocking here and it continues to grow.
For schools, we specifically chose our neighborhood because it had a 10 rated school and was one of the few in the area. Highly recommend this city but make sure you do research about schools. Stay away from Anderson and Spartanburg.

Home of Peg Leg Bates, Miss South Cackalacky 1967 and a gigantic Walmart Distribution Center.
I graduated from Presbyterian College many moons ago, but traveled up there often and still have many friends in the area. Greenville/Spartanburg is nice and has definitely gotten more upscale in the 20+ years since I graduated.
