Well I disagree

345 yards and 3 touchdowns isn't flat.
425 total yards and 4 total touchdowns isn't flat.
425 total yards and 4 total touchdowns isn't flat.

Well that is the whole game, look at the first quarter you moron

They weren't flat. Brennan had issues, OL had issues at times and no real attempt to run in the first half. Teams being "flat" is akin to people using the adjective "great" to describe things. Overused and "flat" out untrue in almost all cases.

I'll take Hester's opinion over yours, and the offense looked fine in the second half. They played well enough to win.

Well that settles it!!! We have a great ???? offense!!! Stats are stats!!!!

His lack of decision in the first quarter was a major issue that led to more issues, but his total performance was good.
Slinger hurt him by not running early(ya know, since O kept saying that it was a strength) and by not giving him easy completions early.

The couch potato coaches obviously know what they are talking about. Just ignore the drive killing drops and mental errors that stopped the dives and turned into mss st points...
Im sure that had nothing to do with the final score.
Dude we had every opportunity to win and it was a matter of inches and milliseconds.
Yeah need to chill out next week there will not be as many key drops or delayed and costly mental errors from Brennan, his offensive line and wr

Well for the last three quarters the offense did as I expected with a few problems but with four punts in the first quarter that did not help set the tone for the Tiger offense, just saying

The QB didn't start out on fire, he took awhile to get things moving, and he still doesn't appear comfortable and relaxed. He still threw for 300+ yds at 3 TDs. Midway through the 4th quarter, we forced a tie at 34.
If the defense wasn't record-setting bad, the offense did enough to win a conference game.

He improved, but still had struggles in the latter half of the game. He hasn't figured out how to feel pressure and navigate the pocket. That comes with time. He has to trust his receivers more and cut it loose. He's overthinking.

I agree with this. Gotta make the RBs more a part of the passing game and run more when you know he's struggling. I was hoping for some WR screens to Boutte so he could use his quickness to gain yards.

The play calling in the first quarter did not help him

Now give me the third down stats.

Blame the new passing coordinator, the routes in the 1st half were too deep for a QB making his first start and with a O line that was having trouble blocking. State simply outcoached and outplayed LSU. Maybe O needs to focus more on football and forget the other distractions around the team. Notice Alabama did not have have such rusty play and players were focused.

I was listening to Hester earlier today and didn't hear this comment.
But, based on what he was saying earlier, I believe his point was bigger than you understood. He's suggesting that plays were there to be made had the QB been able to let the ball go...big plays.
He was very frustrated with Brennan.

I don't know if the pure yardage numbers tell the whole story here. Plus, one of LSU's TDs was scored by the defense.
In the first half LSU had 7 possessions. Only ONE had more than 5 plays. The TD drive that culminated with the Brennan Hail Mary from the 11 yard line.5 of the 7 ended with a punt.
LSU was much better to start the 2nd half. They had scoring drives of 15 and 5 plays. They were also on the move again until the INT where Brennan's arm was apparently hit. If not, that might have been a TD to McMath.
After that, the defense intercepted Costello. LSU immediately turned that into a TD on a great catch by Marshall. Unfortunately, the offense fell apart once more despite the defense giving them a chance to take the lead. Up only 3, MSU fumbled at their own 25. LSU was in prime position to take the lead. They abruptly ran 3 plays for 1 yard and settled for a game tying FG.
Following that, the defense was somehow able to hold MSU to 3. With just over 7 minutes to go, LSU had the ball, down 3. They abruptly went 3 and out and never threatened again.
Point being, LSU showed flashes of life here and there, but they weren't consistently "good". The two MSU turnovers in their own territory frankly kept LSU alive. Otherwise, it was setting up to be a big time arse kicking.

How often do you hear Hester really bash the football program? Never. He's in bed with them and will always find the most bright spots and highlight those over the negative.
