I hope the low rating negatively impact player salary.

I know you're saying you didn't watch anything, but unless these ratings are taking into account numbers of folks live-streaming the game with various, (non-pirated) online services, the numbers don't mean a whole lot.
People had live streaming last year.

The numbers are declining when everyone is home. You can justify it any way you want. A lot of people aren't watching anymore.

The NFL had a decline last year and being woke continues the slide. The Superbowl most likely will bail them out but if the players continue their woke streak, the NFL will continue to decline. Over the next few years we will see if the NFL rights the ship or continues to slide. Frankly while I do hate to see an all American sport self implode, I can not support a league that praises criminals and treats the fans which such disdain and callousness.

Somethings gotta give with the NFL, and it definitely ain’t gonna be billionaires continuing to lose money.
A few of those billionaires may lose their teams to the bank (and eventually the NFL).
The Raiders are on the hook for a bleep-ton of $ for the new Allegiant Stadium. Likely the same with the Rams and Chargers for SoFi Stadium.
Add a few teams that have been marginal (Jacksonville) and you may see something which may have been long overdue in the sports world: team contraction.

That’s a 17% decline from Week 1.
They need to do a year to date as well instead of week to week only.
Posted on 9/21/20 at 1:33 pm to idlewatcher
So from week 1 to week 2 its 17% and week 1 was off by what from the previous year?
Posted on 9/21/20 at 1:56 pm to Kino74
I feels like they've taken steps backwards even from the past year or two, last year was pretty light on anything political for instance and was watchable.
These "issues" existed then didn't they? The minkah Fitzpatrick comments about orders from on high(i.e team/league office) were very interesting.

I cut the cord last week. Saved money and I didn't have rich celebs or athletes tell me how racist I am on the weekend.
They can all suck my dick.

Let's see if it's stays that way. Lol

My TV stays on Fox. Last night I sat down to watch Levin and my TV was on the NFL game. I know I didn’t turn it to that. This has happened twice since the season began. I have Dish Network. How are these ratings calculated? Is there some frickery going here?
Posted on 9/21/20 at 2:13 pm to Sasquatch Smash
I'm not saying people don't watch illegally, but you can't possibly measure it. There were people watching illegally before. Was I paying a premium because of TV numbers plus uncounted illegal viewing? No. I was paying based on the actual numbers just like the rest of TV has been doing since the dawn of television. If someone tried to sell me advertising on that bullshite excuse I would tell them to get fricked. You can't change the basis of your fees now because it doesn't suit you.

When the revenue sharing/salary pool discussions are had and the agents explain to the players that because ad revenue is down, salaries will ultimately either flatten out or go down, I would just love to be a fly on the wall when all that gets discussed.

That's too bad. It was a good game.

That's great.
Are they counting those viewers in these trumpeted declining ratings articles?
That's my only point. Do you know the answer?
If it's a "yes," as I've said, there is much to be concerned about if you're the NFL.

I just don't see how they can reliably make a course change, now. It can't be sudden. They can try to downplay it and hope folks come back, but I don't think it would be acceptable for them to replace the commissioner with like, Condi Rice, and have her do an ad campaign to try to bring straight white males back into the fold.

So 1st week ratings were down From 1st week ratings from last year. Now another drop in week 2. Keep peddling the bullshite NFL, I see a bunch of paycuts coming.

Only 17%?
Should be down much more than that. I'm disappointed.
