‘Sunday Night Football’ Viewership Declines 17% In The Early Ratings From Week 1

The Seattle Seahawks beating the New England Patriots on “Sunday Night Football” didn’t get great TV ratings.
According to Deadline, the early ratings are not impressive for “SNF” and the audience was only 12.22 million viewers on NBC.
That’s a 17% decline from Week 1. Now, the final numbers will almost certainly rise a little bit, but it’s still not pretty.

Why are early ratings a thing? Wait until you have all the data and official numbers to release them.

How's that wokeness working out, NFL?

I cut the cord last week. Saved money and I didn't have rich celebs or athletes tell me how racist I am on the weekend.
They can all suck my dick.
They can all suck my dick.

Only 17%?
Should be down much more than that. I'm disappointed.

It wasn't a lackluster matchup or a boring game either.

You hate to see it.

That's compared to week 1 of this year....which was also down compared to last year's first game.

I think last week was a 20% decline over last year.....this week is 17% lower than that. That's pretty damn bad.

What's a Seattle Seahawk?

How about comparing it to last year's total.

The best comparison would be an aggregated total compared to last year.
I think FOX had two games that were increases.....but almost every other game...including the stand alone SNF/MNF/TNF games were down.

I know you're saying you didn't watch anything, but unless these ratings are taking into account numbers of folks live-streaming the game with various, (non-pirated) online services, the numbers don't mean a whole lot.

Will the players scream racism and its not fair when the league says they have to lower the salary cap?

Yes It’s going to be very interesting to see how long this “We were wrong” and “We are the problem” stance holds up. Somethings gotta give with the NFL, and it definitely ain’t gonna be billionaires continuing to lose money.

Double post due to my freakin' double-clicking Logitech G Pro Gaming mouse.

Except at some point the advertising has to adjust and realize that not everyone is watching over the airwaves or via the cable-box anymore.
Think about it.
If it's only counting tv/cable services and not online services as well, the numbers aren't depicting reality.
If it includes all types of live viewing, it should most definitely be concerning for the NFL and their advertisers.
