Because subtlety is often lost on you ... neither you nor Wally is that person.

And very often an actual ANALYSIS leads to finding common ground. Hell, just yesterday I learned that 808Bass and I share a common view regarding no-knock warrants, for many of the same reasons.

And I DO think that finding common ground is more likely when everyone is working with the ACTUAL facts, so I DO correct blatant, material factual misstatements. Likewise, I DO explain the applicable law, when a poster's premise is based almost ENTIRELY upon a misunderstanding of that law.

Does everyone appreciate it? Of course not. In fact, zealous ideologues tend to react rather violently to challenges of their erroneous misconceptions and preconceptions. But if a few people gain a new perspective or a better understanding, I think it was worth a bit of my time.

Meanwhile, you spend your time accusing strangers of pedophilia and assorted other sexual abnormalities.
