No refund either. They should have just claimed to be holding a protest.

quote:

Northeastern University has dismissed 11 first-year students after they were caught violating social distancing rules, the school announced Friday, the latest and most aggressive attempt to prevent the pandemic from disrupting plans to return to Boston’s campuses this fall.

The students were caught at the Westin Hotel, which is being used as a temporary dormitory this semester, on Wednesday night without masks and not social distancing according to university spokeswoman Renata Nyul.

The dismissed students will not be allowed to take courses from home this semester but will be permitted to return in the spring, Nyul said. They were part of a special one-semester program for freshmen that was prepaid and cost $36,500. That money will not be refunded.

This is how KarenProgs roll. Judgement, coercion and control. And they basically run every Institution in this country. They absolutely get off on PUNISHMENT.

As soon as one parent has their lawyer draft a nice letter, the money will be returned.

How can they keep money for services not rendered? Seems like an easy lawsuit

Why not? If this was only about safety then let the kids be online. Kicking them out without refund or online classes is simply punishment.

If they’re a public school, absolutely. If private, and they established rules and clearly relayed them to the students along with the clear consequences of breaking them, I’m not sure the students have a case.

Good! Just think how many students they murdered. I only hope they will be able to trace the deaths back to them so they can be charged with murder in a couple of weeks.

Northeastern is private.

It’s really shitty what they’re doing, but if the students signed some kind of contract, then yeah I’m not sure what they can do.

Peacefully assembling is not allowed on universities. Hitler would be proud.

I’d ask why the football team is allowed to not wear mask or social distance, but I can’t????

It’s a top 50 school an it’s private. Not surprised.

Follow the fricking rules and you won’t have problems like this. It’s not that difficult

I bet the leaders of the university were marching with locked arms all in the name of black lives matter earlier in the summer. Bunch of hypocrites.

They were given the policy and told the consequences and then violated and were subject to consequences. This is in fact a punishment.
