I occasionally see people using a plate under their heel or wedges under their feet when doing squats. I tried searching some online and seem to get conflicting information about who should do this and when. Some of the articles I've read say raising the heel helps the lower back, but tends to hurt knees. Also it helps people with mobility issues in the ankles, but doesn't resolve the root issue.
What's the general thoughts here on using something to raise your heels while squatting?

if you lack ankle mobility do it or slant boards. thats the main reason to do it.

I love using my lifting shoes when doing heavy squats. I typically use Reebok Nano or be bare foot to warm up.
Tomorrow looks like a great one to jump right back into things. Stomach still a bit off but improving.
