I keep hearing all this stuff about Alabama's class just being average, and Nick was a one hit wonder in recruiting...da da da da da. All this talk about nothing but 3-stars Alabama is getting now. Tell me this...did you all think your class last year was just average or a weak class? Because at this time last year... you had the following.

3 Derrick Bryant
3 Kyle Prater
3 Ryan Baker (later bumped to 4)
3 Tim Molton
3 Cordian Hagans
3 Deangelo Peterson (later bumped to 4)
3 Ryan St. Julien
3 Thomas Parsons
4 Matt Branch
3 Rockey Duplessis
4 Brandon Taylor
3 Jhyryn Taylor
3 Kellen Theriot
3 P.J. Lonergan
4 Clay Spencer

3 four stars and 12 3 stars...

Nuff said.

Yeah, that's true... Saban did have like 34 3 and 4 star commits by this time last year. You've certainly got us there.

I don't think anyone is saying Bama's class is/will be terrible.

But the fact that it full of just regular guys (9 3*, 4 4*) and that many of last year's class did not end up at Bama both tend to show that maybe Saban isn't the messiah some Bama fans thought.

Sorry if someone's posts got under your skin.

Just sit back and enjoy your season and don't worry about the naysayers. Bama is rolling!

that class had a 3.58 average. i'd be curious to see what bama's average for that class is now that several 4 stars are gone, i'd bet there isn't much of a difference between miles "weak class" and bama's "greatest class of all time"

So my question remains...was lsu's class last year full of a bunch of average joe's?

At the end of the year we will have 3-4 five stars and about 13-14 four stars.

ANYTHING BUT AVERAGE!

And by this time last year, you still haven't beat Auburn in forever.

And by this time last year Saban was marking ULM on the calendar as a free win where he could start putting third string and freshmen in by the third quarter.

Planning on signing 35-40 players and having 1/4 of them not actually make it again?

Dre Kilpatrick and...?

Are you already assuming that Trent Richardson will stay at Alabama and be moved up to a 5-star and that Nico Johnson will commit to Alabama and be moved up to a 5-star?

Congrats, it only took you 3 posts to lose all credibility. I would say that is a new bama record... but it isn't.

this is a common perception on bama boards. i think they expect richardson and dj fluker to get 5th stars. that's about the only way they get more than one five star

I think if Bama recruited some Louisiana players instead of Alabama players, the star rating would rise.
