Coaches are trying to convince Shelvin not to go now. I personally don't understand this one, and he needs to be at LSU to have people on top of him to keep his weight down. I don't believe a final decision has been made at this point, but it is a very real possibility

Soon the freshman will be opting out. It only works if you’re a bonafide top 10 pick

The hits keep coming.

How can we recruit our own Lawrence's, Etiennes and Hubbards?

Yep Shelvin will be announcing soon unfortunately. Best thing out of this is experience for the younger guys that will help for the natty run in 2021.

Our d line is completely gutted. We better hope none of them get covid or we'll have to field walk ons

We can’t. The culture of getting out ASAP is firmly entrenched at LSU. We saw what happened last year when you get people to stay but apparently it won’t last

Let him go. You’re either all in or all out. He showed up overweight anyway and you can bet GMs know about it across the League

We will be fine in the middle.

Biggest concern is it’s sounds like we’re having culture problems

I doubt this would be happening if we didn't win the championship. These kids have hit the pinnacle on one of the best team ever. Now they are looking at playing a season that will have an asterix next to it that could be derailed at any moment. It's not hard to see why guys want to pass on it.

If this was going to be a normal season this wouldn't be happening.

It's working for Clemson and bama.

Clemson had 3 first round draft picks on the d line that came back to win a championship and they all went in the first round the following year.

Now they have Lawrence and eitenne.

They just care more about winning for their school than chasing money.

Is what it is and I don't blame our players but it's a cultural locker room problem we have compared to those 2 schools.

Awww man. Defensive tackle was our deepest position on the defense this season!!! Losing Farrell and now Shelvin if true is awful.

CAN WE JUST MAKE THE BLEEDING STOP ALREADY!!!!

Except, with rare exceptions like last off season, our eligible players always flee as soon as they can. Every season.

If Shelving opts out with that much time off, he might be extremely overweight by the time the draft would happen and could really damage his draft stock. Much different situation than Chase if he opts out.

Why come back just to opt out?

I dont Think he is a no brained 1st rounders. He’s good but he can easily be passed by other DTs

He is who we thought he was if this is the case .Undisciplined and underachiever. I really thought his handlers were smarter. I still hope they can help him see the path to riches goes thru BR in 2020 .May never be heard from again . Sad
