Dude is so in the tank for Mackenzie, he can't see straight. He's one of those spinless guys that doesn't have an opinion until his GF gives it to him. If he goes running back to that trainwreck, he deserves everything he gets.
Same for Cely.
That said, however, Connor wasn't going to be in a headspace to deal with anything but pine over Mackenzie until he went home. Moira did the humane thing and put him out of his misery.
