They'll be fine. Only thing the schools and conference lose is money and the conference has plenty. Thinking they'll disintegrate or suffer harshly is as over-reactive as the virus response has been.

Head coaches have zero say in who or when they can play. It’s all down to the egg head presidents and lawyers. Commissioners, AD’s, all of em...zero input.

Really, because Notre Dame is back and they required all 12,000 students to get tested and provide results. 33, only 33 out of 12,000 tested positive. The government has brain washed the majority of the population, you included. Their results are posted to the public.

A long long time. I wouldn’t be surprised if 50% of all those teams coaching staff quits for other job openings. The university presidents have no idea the ramifications they just caused their programs. Recruiting, Transfers, Coaches leaving in droves, money drying up from boosters/no revenue. What they did was just commit suicide for their programs. I hope they change their mind and let them play before it’s to late.

The immediate ramifications if a season goes on without a hitch is those schools will lack any true publicity during the fall. Meanwhile recruits will go visit the teams actually playing. The immediate impact on recruiting will be felt but not extremely significant. However, this hurts lesser amounts for the class the following year.

More exposure will create more student enrollment in football playing schools. The schools will have more non-resident students attending generate more revenue and wider reach breadth for future generations. Fans of teams not playing will gain new allegiances and spend money or watch their new teams. This will also generate more revenue and future recruits to these schools. Think of the kids.

Overall the immediate impact will be financial. It will take one year for them to get back to generating that revenue. However, their success will decline with a waning degree of loyalty from their fans lagging from many variables thereafter.
