The sheriff also said the state wants parishes to sign basically a NDA to receive the names of the tests.
Would be interesting to see the specifics of the NDA. If it just bars local officials from sharing individuals’ information (which is what LDH says they are concerned about) then I have no issue with it. If, on the other hand, it bars local officials from speaking out about the data.. that’s sketchy.

I don't see a problem with this. I don't want some HS dropout sheriff deputy having access to HIPAA level info.

What Sheriff in Louisiana doesn’t have a high school diploma?

Privacy is already protected. The numbers have nothing to do with HIPAA.

I'd feel safer with a sheriff have that info than our governor and God knows who else he's given it to.

So handing out your name/address/medical condition doesn't have to do with HIPAA.
Alright.

Ascension allows for a GED, I would imagine a lot do.

If there are errors they need to be corrected. At least the possibility of errors is part of a public process. It would be bad to have everything hidden or covered up.

There is no need for an NDA if it’s already a law. Parishes could release their own numbers without names just like the state does. What’s wrong with that?
This should be handled by the parishes anyway.

Yeah, the the public responses from LDH have been terrible. No idea why they would be confrontational when someone questions their data instead of making everyone get on the same page.
If the Homeland Security teams refuse attempts then be public about it. Their passive aggressive 'we know more than you' isn't helpful.

The list the Parish is working off of has apparently already been shared with people who weren't supposed to see it. I think that is the problem, as LDH sees it.
Meh, if each parish handled it there would be an even larger clusterfrick. They aren't equipped to do the job.

Folks, the people reporting these numbers are the same ones who want to count your mail in ballots this November.
It’s absolutely absurd.

Then the individuals will sue if they care.
You know it’s bullshite.

Yeah, I don't think any evidence can be given to quell people who think the numbers are grossly overstated. They will just move on to the next accusation.
Every idiot I know knows a friends cousin who left a long line and got a positive test. They usually have a nephews teacher that tested 10 times negative and all their tests counted.
Usually, idiots like you, don't realize all you are saying is that the virus is much more deadly. IF the state is inflating numbers that just means there are fewer numbers in the denominator.

You’re the same guy from the walkons thread the other day arguing the people in the thread were trying to get the hostess wearing a BLM mask fired, right? How’s that going btw?
You’re also the guy that isn’t intelligent enough to understand the difference between boycotting and cancel culture, right?

Or the other option. The death rate is actually even lower than what’s being reported because mindless sheep like you believe the death numbers being reported, that include people dying from heart attacks, gunshots, and motor vehicle accidents, are accurate and not also grossly misrepresented.

Didn't the Walkon's thread get removed for that reason?
There are logical arguments against covid and the way they are reported. You are managing to miss all of them.

We are the beta testers for a world in the future that will function virtually. Misinformation, cyber attacks, a virtual wild west.
We are discovering tons of bugs and our life is worse off for it. But in several decades, humans will flourish while using the same means to vote, communicate, govern, etc.
It reminds me a lot of Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, where he describes a chinese peasant working for pennies, likely to die of disease with no medical care, yet her efforts pushed humanity forward. But for what? She died and never saw any of the reward. She would very likely been better off and happier as a hunter gatherer, yet the society she was born into forced her into servitude just to survive.
In a less fatalistic way, this is the same thing. We are learning how to navigate this shite for generations whose parents haven't even been born yet.
