What if the smart tv has Roku as its platform?

Eh? Dedicated media boxes are WAY better than TV apps. They are updated more often, have faster processors, more RAM and are generally more consistent with high quality streams. Even the best of Samsung and Sony can't compete with a dedicated media device.

Too poor to own a dedicated app box huh?

Seriously, Roku is a MUCH better platform than any of the TV based app support. In fact, the better the TV/PJ the less likely they give a shite about app support. The cheap TVs are the ones that do the best job (although still only marginal) because they are marketed to people that aren't interested in paying the extra money for high end app support.

It will be interesting to see how HBO and Roku/Fire get on with this issue, the same with Peacock. It represents nothing but frustration for customers.
