Isn't the top of Chimney Tops still closed? You used to be able to scale the rocky summit, but after the fire I didn't think they reopened the very top. Hopefully I'm wrong, because that's a fun little hike.

The rock outcrop @ the very top is still closed unfortunately which is a shame because that's the most rewarding part of the hike, but you can still hike most of the trail up to a new landing area they built. It's not as good, but it's better than nothing I guess.

Knoxville is like Baton Rouge if Baron Rouge was in West Virginia.

So a single male should move here , mid 20s . I like outdoor and recreation

Yeah, went once right before the pandemic and once in June when we had settled down a bit. Great space and some really good beers.

Boo, you need strength in numbers to improve your chances. Maybe Chicago or NYC?

Yeah, but you're fishing with no bait.

The similar population sizes are where the simiarities start and end from my experience.
Knoxville is more similar to Greeneville, Chattanooga, Huntsville & Asheville type cities.
Baton Rouge reminds me more of Jackson & Montgomery.

Hope your daughter develops a fondness for the BC, don't even care what size.

I'm looking forward to checking them out. I'll be out there soon. Have you tried Abridged's Oak Room sour house in happy holler yet?
It's cool to see that area blow up. 5 years ago there weren't any breweries over by that part of downtown. Now there's Schulz Brau, Crafty Bastard, Elkmont Exchange, Next Level, Abridged's Oak Room, Fanatic and a few more are on the way I think (XUL Brewing maybe?). Hexagon and Last Days of Autumn aren't that far either.

West Virginia white trash makes East TN white trash look like a bunch of Grey Poupon fans.

No, I haven't been there yet, and I haven't been to the Fanatic taproom.
I think Xul and Geezers are both coming soon to that area.

Elst isn't far up Central... you should definitely check them out.

I moved to Knoxville from Baton Rouge in 2005. Pretty awesome place to live.
I describe it to friends as one of the best kept secrets in the United States.
Very Republican Population here. Low crime. Low taxes. Low cost of living. Weather here is great. Plenty to do here, and the future is bright.
And I wear purple and gold all the time here.

I was having a beer with Xul's head brewer @ Pretentious last week. I'm looking forward to their opening.
I haven't been to Elst, Printshop, Next Level or Orange Hat yet. There's been so many open up within the last year it's been hard to keep up. Overall a great problem to have though

You're dead on. LSU and UT make for natural allies IMO. You guys are always welcome up here.
The Appalachian and Cajun subcultures in the South make people from both areas appreciate each others culture & uniqueness from what I've seen.

Spent a lot of time in Tennessee with family and stuff. Smoky Mountains is a beautiful area.

I feel like the population here is very Libertarian that leans conservative.
