Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in a Colorado hotel bar. The guys were fresh back from a Russia tour, playing unannounced, and they were stoked to be back home. There was way less than a 100, just a normal bar scene, because it was off season in CO.

John Hartford with complete band, not long before he died, in a jam-packed house concert. It was supposed to be an outdoor festival and he was too ill from treatments to play outdoors (as scheduled). Was ever how many could fit inside a one bedroom house (or peer in through a window).

Vassar Clements in the drive way at a friends house. He stopped by a day/night early to check the place out and stayed with the heads he found.

A buddy (not me) raves about Bob Dylan walking into a TP Crockmiere's (old school bar) in Mobile and asking the guy on stage if could he play. Said the place filled up real fast.

Drive By Truckers, with 7 or 8 other people in the audience, at Rudyards in Houston. It was after Southern Rock Opera, but before they were well known around here.
