From what I’ve heard from people around town, that would be Lafayette‘s plan for virtual learning.

I’m sick to death of these stupid arse posts about the unnecessary hate for teachers by people who know NOTHING about what a teacher’s day, career, and classroom entail.
I had many wonderful and hard working teachers who never received the pay or respect they deserve, and it still continues today.

You probably haven’t been in a classroom in over a decade when you were a pain in the arse, rude student.

Why don’t you substitute for a day to better understand what you know nothing about? Why don’t you give up your nights and weekends to create lesson plans, grade assignments, do inservice, curriculum meetings, and continuing education classes, and dealing with unappreciative jackasses?

Looks like she thinks teaching is the only job in America where you have to work outside of 9-5 M-F or deal with dipshits. The rest of us just don’t get off a full 3 months to make up for it.

Ascension will video their teachers teaching in class and post to online. No zoom because of the recent issues with it being hacked and Ascension having an issue of it being hacked

Instead many get 2 weeks paid vacation plus 2 weeks of sick time along with holidays...

The time off isn't much different from other jobs, maybe 15-20 days depending on the job

Obviously no one went into the classroom in the spring, but full lessons were taught on zoom.

Our district will be requiring teachers to be in the building working full-time whether students are there or not.

So, this fall full lesson plans will be taught in the classroom. I don’t agree with anyone who believes school should be virtual, but it’s crazy to believe teachers shouldn’t be paid for working.

Yeah cause no teacher I ever had growing up ever had a sub fill in

Teachers also get an extra 4 full weeks due to thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring breaks. You get a literal 4 full months of work off a year and you want to compare that to 2 weeks vacation and sick pay?

It's not like teachers sought out the teaching profession for those perks or anything...and they get paid for the time they work. What's the tradeoff for all those days off? Subpar pay

The threads here bitching about teachers far out number threads started by teachers to bitch. By a long shot.

That’s true. Teachers are dirt poor.

OP almost certainly thinks teachers get paid for their summers off instead of their checks being escrowed during the school year.
