Considering some states still don’t have Medical it may be a while

5 - 10 in the US. 50 in Louisiana.

They just need to take it off the schedule list and let states decide.

It should be zero. Why hasn’t Trump done it yet? Why didn’t Obama?

If people are freaking out about this Covid thing wait until we have a major outbreak of Reefer Madness

The President cannot (unilaterally) issue an EO to deschedule a drug. There's actually a process for this, but it takes years of research and studies. The process includes studies that are to be conducted by the DEA and FDA. Wanna take a guess what conclusions their studies would come to?

Marijuana being on the schedule list invalidates the entire list in the eyes of the American youth. They’d be making a really smart decision to decriminalize at the federal level.

It will be decriminalized at the federal level within the next 2 years.
Louisiana: never.
Louisiana: never.

Yep. They tried to bring medical to the floor here (Kentucky) and while it passed the House it stalled in the Senate because House Senate Leader Stivers (R) said “it (marijuana) needed to be researched more”. And with Rep DuPlessis (R) claiming Colorado has had a huge spike in crime and homelessness because of it.
Bunch of fricking idiots.

Yep. One of the few areas within politics where conservatives piss me off. And I don’t even smoke the stuff

Here is my concern/theory:
The cartels have a vested interest in not allowing for the legalization of drugs because they are such heavy suppliers. In order to protect said interest, they would ramp up their violent tactics to “flex” on the agencies within the US and their own country so as to discourage across the board legalization. Those agencies, out of fear of unforeseen acts of violence from the cartels, have negotiated with these devils so that there won’t ever be a nationwide legalization. However, there could be another route wherein the agencies have negotiated a slower process of legalization in exchange for whatever they’re offering the cartels so they won’t cause mayhem.
