...but the characters are so over the top.

Is season 2 better?

IMHO it’s one of those shows that keep getting better. I loved season 3 and was mad that I binged and have to wait for season 4.

How far along in Season one are you?

I went from absolutely hating Ruth to actually liking her the most.

I had a hard time getting over the idea that the base concept of what they're supposed to be doing is laundering money. But the things they engage in -- like running a freaking marina -- are not even close to being realistic for that purpose.

If the base premise is that far off, then I have a hard time suspending disbelief for the rest of it.

Are you unaware of how they're using the marina to launder money?

it only gets worse. i liked the first season well enough, struggled through the second, and made it about five minutes into the third before i said "i think ive had enough"

I liked season 1 and quit in season 2. I just didn’t give a shite about any of them.

I thought season 2 was a significant drop off from season 1. Season 3 got better again, especially towards the end

My main criticism of the show. They try to move so fast and always have some huge conflict occurring that you never really get much character development. Ruth being the one exception

Season 2 seems to be opening up too many plots.

I watched the first season. And there was no plausible realistic way to launder millions through that shitty marina. It takes huge businesses to launder on that scale. Like a casino.

And I have a master's degree in finance. And I'm in a business that could be used for that purpose. And I've been approached by some potential clients who I suspected wanted to do just that.

I know enough about it to speak intelligently on the matter.

Unless they got into something else in season 2, they weren't laundering money through the marina in season 1.

Are you being facetious?

If I had to guess, youve either seen season 2-3 or you know what happens in season 2-3.

I hated it. The writing is shite and there isn't a likable character to be found anywhere in the cast.

No.

All I have seen was Season 1. And the entire idea that they could launder millions of dollars through some crappy marina and a strip club. Just absurd.

Laundering money is one of the most lucrative, difficult, and sophisticated challenges in the entire financial world. So the premise of a cartel laundering millions through a seasonal resort in the backwoods of Missouri is just absurd. If they didn't spend time thinking that part of the show through, then I don't have much respect for them showrunners.

It’s good but the story gets stale by the end of season 3

I tried watching this show because I kept hearing how it was amazing.

It just didn’t do it for me. I don’t get it.

Too many characters disappear as the show progresses
