OKC here. I love it here but night and day difference. OKC may as well be NYC compared to Guymon. Be prepared for atrocious weather. Negative wind chills on the regular in the panhandle during the winter.

I'd love to live in a place like Guymon, but I'm afraid my wife would hate it. After the things she said about Philadelphia, MS, I don't think she even comprehends that a place like Guymon could exist.

OKC here as well. Guymon is not within 4 hours of ANYTHING significant and it is cold as hell up there in the winter. Out of anywhere in Oklahoma, it would have to be in the bottom 10% of places you could live.

Took a little look at Miami, OK. I’ve been to NW Arkansas and this isn’t far. Real estate is dirt cheap. Is this place just overrun with meth?

Well looking on google maps there is a Walmart and a Water Tower. I'm guessing the Walmart is the center of the towns social scene and nightlife.

You should go. Learn to fly. Buy an affordable aircraft. Things wont be that far away after that.

Yes they do, just not for commercial air.

My landlord in grad school was from there. Got education, got his PhD, academic his whole career, never went back.
He and I laughed about how you could climb the highest point in Oklahoma from the Oklahoma side, or drive into Colorado and follow that lava flow down hill.

The thread title is so misleading when he’s asking specifically about fricking Guymon
