i have no idea tbh, I'm gonna say no there is no filler under the baseboards

this is the stone cast brand, supposed to be one of the highest quality holmes sells. idk.

Sounds like a poor install. There has to be something between the flooring and the wall (below the baseboard like you said) to maintain pressure on all the planks. It has to be something that can conform to the expansion/contraction of the flooring/house with the changes in heat/cold too. I have seen that problem before and it is highly annoying when the planks separate. You can even get pinched badly to the point it draws blood.
