Do you believe Hitler should be erased from history? Do you believe the Romans should be erased? Why is ignorance more appealing than knowledge to you? Do you understand that narrowing your view of something as big as the country’s history serves a streamlined agenda? Of corse not because twitter says it doesn’t lol.

It says screw you. Forget hell. It’s also a fine flag to fight the under. I would guess that it’s made an appearance in every major American conflict since it came out.
The real flag is the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the single star.

I think the removing of these statues has the whiff of the Taliban to it and if given a voice on such matters, I would not vote in favor of such efforts. With that said, I think the decision to remove these statues should be left to the citizens of the governing entities in which the statues are erected.
If a statue is in a City park, the decision should be left to the residents of that city. The same principle should apply to statues in County, State or National parks. The problem in Birmingham was the State of Alabama passed a law forbidding local governments and municipalities from removing such statues.
I am opposed in principle to such centralized edicts. My default position is that all governing decisions are best made at the local level.
As a resident of Birmingham Alabama, I would respect the opinion of the majority. Though I disagree, I certainly understand the argument that Confederate statues could be seen as a glorification of slavery.

Their tactics come directly from that regions terrorist organizations.

I can't understand why these vandals and criminals who are destroying public property aren't being arrested and prosecuted (and made to reimburse the city for damages). Take the issue up with your respective city council if you don't like a certain monument.

The direct association of the "Confederate Flag" with the CSA is strange to me.
What it represented to me was regional pride against the backdrop of most of the rest of the nation looking upon Southerners as backwards, hillbillies, red necks, cajuns, etc.
I love the Gulf Coast. And I love the South. I don't have to tie my love for it to the CSA.

Yes, it perfectly dovetails with the history of Jim Crow. The present "confederate flag" did not have much emotional resonance prior to the 1920s or so.
I just watched Birth of a Nation 1915...it was in there prominently

They’re going after them there, too.

say "unfortunately," because devoid of all connotations and history, I find the flag extremely aesthetically pleasing. It's a terrific design. Just an unfortunate history attached to it.
#metoo
Love the design
Hate that the kkk and other frick sticks took it over. Wish it could fly free without being a symbol of hate.

Doesn't have to have value. Free fricking speech.

Exactly. What is the end game here?
After Washington and Jefferson are knocked of their pedestal, we all know that the Constitution and Bill of Rights are next to be cancelled by the progressive mob.

Not what I asked. You’re ignoring this country’s educational institutions completely altering its history as well as the desecration of monuments. We had a senator in the chamber say “the United States invented slavery” just last week. I know you’re not stupid so don’t pretend to be.

I have 27 documented ancestors that fought for the Confederacy. My G-G-G grandfather died in 1862 while serving in the Army of Northern Virginia.
I don't have to apologize to any of you leftists for them and I am damn sure am not going to be ashamed of them or their service.
“Sirs, you have no reason to be ashamed of your Confederate dead; see to it they have no reason to be ashamed of you.”
Robert Lewis Dabney, Chaplain for Stonewall Jackson

Good or bad it's an important part of our history. Americans have the right to worship any God and display any historical or fictional figure they wish. If anyone is offended they have the right to turn away. Rights don't end where feelings begin.
I know several adults who don't believe that blacks owned slaves or blacks fought under the Confederate flag. Although, they are both facts it's not taught in schools. It's not even discussed.
They want to control, remove, destroy, and rewrite history. It is how the left memory holes the truth and spoon feeds their narrative to future generations.
"If you do not know where you come from, then you don't know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you're going. And if you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong."
The truth is most southerners did not even own slaves nor did they own plantations. Most of them were small farmers who worked their farms with their families. They were fighting for their rights.

You mean like the Conderates? (Alexander Stephens’ Cornerstone speech, etc.)
