Man killed in officer-involved shooting at Atlanta fast food restaurant

Atlanta police units initially responded to a 911 call reporting a suspicious person at Wendy's around 10:30 p.m. Friday. Officers found a man asleep in his car, parked in the drive-thru lane and blocking customers, according to GBI.
They reportedly conducted a sobriety test, but when they attempted to arrest the man, identified as 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, a struggle ensued.
Deputy Chief Timothy Peek, with Atlanta police, described officers' numerous attempts to deploy Tasers.
"Ultimately, when the officer used the Taser, it was ineffective for the suspect," Peek said. "It did not stop the aggression of the fight."
Peek added preliminary information shows Brooks was able to take an officer's Taser from him and use it against the officers.

If people don’t want the police to have to shoot in situations like this, let’s bring back the Billy clubs and allow the officers to beat on scum like this to subdue him

Looks like he wrassled with the cops and they shot him in the back during his victory run because they could not handle the L.

So far story seems to be: He was drunk driving, tased twice while attempting to be arrested, stole a taser and ran away, but then got shot in the back running away.

They probably should have deescalated the situation by bolting or riveting his vehicle doors shut and then having a hauler impound it. Or could have brought a welder to weld the doors shut and hauled the car away.
