After the Middleton Library fiasco, still hoping the threat of contributions being pulled will convince to BOS not to give in the the extortionists, where will they go next. You all know how this works, once they think they have you over a barrel, the demands will only increase, they will NEVER be satisfied.
I've already posted that I thing the Cabildo and Andrew Jackson are doomed. What will the next target be?
The history of the "Fighting Tigers" is that it was a unit in the Confederate Army, you following me here? If Ole Miss lost Johnny Reb, do you think it is outside the scope of possibility that by next year we will be the LSU Pussies, or something as ignomanious?

Crayola changed the color "flesh" to "peach" years ago.

How about you just stop giving a frick about preserving a really shitty part of our history?

Notice that LSU rarely uses the fighting tigers name nowadays. It’s coming though. Just give it time.

all history should be preserved. all of it.

some things need to be changed. i can understand the middelton one for sure.
tearing down andrew jackson in nola is different. he was a president. he led the american forces in the battle of 1812 to save the city. Yes he was a slave owner, but in that time, what white man of power wasn't. it was just how history was. obviously if a man like jackson existed today, he would likely not have the same ideals. the country was built on these ideals sadly. every leader this country has come from the same background. we can't revise our history. it doesn't mean that those men that built and defended the country shouldn't be celebrated because of the times they lived in. that's not really fair to them
we have progressed since the colonies were started, and we continue to do so in a harmonious fashion. with every generation of kids, racism slowly dies. it will never completely go away, and no amount of statues, building names, street names, or park names is ever going to change that.

Also kind of creepy to have a color named “flesh” like if maroon was “blood”

Sounds like a brainwashed lib script right here folks.

It’s humorous to me that black Americans love to flaunt their heritage and African history but nobody else can.
Look, do southern whites have ancestors from three-four generations ago who did terrible, inhuman things? Yes. Nobody denies that but to try to change that now is ridiculous. Acknowledge it, discuss it, learn from it, and move on!

So put it in a museum so people who actually are interested in history will be able to learn from it. Nobody gives a shite what the LSU library is called. Nobody praised who it was named after. Nobody cared until the thought of removing a racist memorial was expressed and now all of a sudden a bunch of rednecks care about history.

At least half of all human history could be deemed “really shitty”. Does that mean it didn’t happen and should be wiped away? Why give a frick about anything. Just roll over, right?

They will demand at least five hundred billion dollars worth of taxpayer money with no public disclosure of who received it or how it was spent.
On wait, that already happened.
On wait, that already happened.
quote:
Businesses have taken at least half a trillion dollars in coronavirus aid from the American public, and the government is refusing to disclose which companies are getting the money.
Loans under the program are forgivable, meaning companies don’t have to pay them back. Recipients are meant to spend the money on continuing to pay workers or on recurring expenses, such as rent and utilities.
As Congress rushed to provide economic relief to US businesses, it also sent money to companies that did not critically need financial aid. More than 300 publicly traded companies received payments. Indebted fossil-fuel producers have been among them. At least one company used its aid to benefit wealthy, private jet-owning clients. Small businesses, meanwhile, say they have struggled to gain access to the loans.
The program has also raised concerns of conflicts of interest. A top treasury department official charged with steering the coronavirus bailout program is set to benefit financially from the spending he is overseeing.

more to that..i don't see germany having statues of Himmler, Goebbels, and Hitler laying about because its "part of history". The confederate monuments shouldn't be celebrated like they were. Put them in a museum.
That's where i draw the line. Pulling down presidential monuments goes beyond acceptable to me. judging a man that lived in the 1700-1800's my 2020 standards isn't appropriate
