But I'm just here in the Chicago suburbs enjoying every minute of it.

Looking at the pictures of this, I see a bunch of uppity white people bringing gentrification to the BLM movement.

I asked this earlier...I’ll try again since you live there.
Is there a middle class up there? Fiancé and I are both teachers, considering a move. I can’t imagine our modest salaries net a decent house up there, yeah?

Had no idea until last night that this was going on. I have not been able to pick my jaw off the floor yet.
The short-sightedness of this whole shenanigan is astounding.
Let me get this straight - it seems to me that if anyone is thinking long-term here (most aren't, I know), they are trying to essentially establish a new nation...by walling themselves off...using homemade barricades..."led" by a 2-day old mafia...in the middle of the most powerful country in the world...currently supplied by the most powerful country in the world (water, electricity, waste disposal, etc.)...and demanding said country just give them the land.
I mean...I am truly having a hard time comprehending the stupidity involved here.

My town, University Place, is pretty much exclusively middle class. We don't have any really ritzy areas but we don't have any run down areas either. You're probably going to pay a higher percentage of your income on housing, but not ridiculously so. 400k can still get you a very nice house in a lot of areas.

Only livestream I can find right now, with a CHAZ resident periodically enjoying his mocha latte from Starbucks.

True. They have to have a bed to sleep in also. Just seems like every place we check has some extremely high housing prices. I’m no OT baller, unfortunately.

In Seattle? Depends on where. You can live in the burbs too, but the commute is fricking hell.

I assume it can be. She was ready to have me trucking an hour each way across San Antonio.
Time to research the suburbs up there.

Are they really that stupid if the government is doing literally nothing about it, and letting them do it, and have all of the power and water they want?
(I mean, they are still stupid, but its not like the feckless Seattle gov't is doing anything about it)

Sadly this is true, but the Seattle gov't can't sit idly for much longer. They have to commit one way or another.
When does the Seattle gov't inaction bring Federal consequences?

Is there a border map of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone?

They need to take a flamethrower to that whole mess up there.
A Warlord in Texas would last about 5 seconds.

Only one I could find.
EDIT: Anyone else find it funny they refer to the police as the "Regime"?

They want the feds to come in so they aren't seen as responsible for it to their nutcase constituents and you have the optics of the feds coming in and taking down "peaceful protestors".
Let them rot. I hope they never go in. This is Seattle's problem.

Considering the supreme court ruled police are not required to enforce laws or protect citizens, I would say it isn't a far reach to assume they would also rule the government in general is not required to protect citizens.
At a fundamental level this makes sense because it is similar to saying healthcare is a right. If healthcare is a right and nobody wanted to be doctors, the government would have to force or enslave people to be doctors. Not realistic.
I can see the same argument for protecting the public. If it is required to by law and nobody wants to do it, they'd be forced to enslave folks to be cops.
Don't be surprised if the government is never held accountable by itself. It can realistically only be done by voters. I guess that is the way it was designed to be anyway.
