Maybe Brees feels like protests are to be had but that protests during the national anthem aren’t really appropriate.

Understand what exactly? That George Floyd died unnecessarily and tragically? We all get that. I’m sure MT sits in his home all day, afraid the police will shoot him if he goes to Sonic. No, but he is pretty dumb for thinking that everyone has to have his same view and if he doesn't, then it's disrespectful.
Drew and others stand for the troops, and that's fine.
Thomas and others kneel for police brutality, and that's fine too.
There's no reason to judge the other's belief and the largely benign act they do during the anthem.

Well you've totally missed the point. I'll explain it for you. Drew Brees says the flag represents this country and what it stands for. You know the country that allowed them an opportunity to overcome racial profiling and other adversity to become part of the 1%.
